Hopefully that triggered some clicks.
To those that have recognition herbicide do you also have fusillade ii? If so let me know. Syngenta claims it will kill Dallisgrass in St Aug. That’s a fricking game changer. I will be able to test it soon but legal has to have all sorts of documentation on what I’m doing. I’ll give you the fills and you can test it.

I spoke to Dr Tredway last year about take all patch. I hope he’s right about Dallisgrass.

I used it 4 weeks ago and am about to do a second spray. I had a couple of clumps of dallisgrass in the area I sprayed. They are purple and looking pretty hurt. I’m hoping the second spray finishes them off. But at this point my results specifically with dallisgrass are inconclusive.

Please let me know. It will be 2 months before the legal over analyze the label and then I can test it.

I just got home and went take some pictures. These are the biggest clumps I have and they’ve been looking like this for a couple weeks now. They are also in an area that I didn’t get even coverage when I sprayed. You can still see some green bermuda. I bought some dye to make sure that doesn’t happen again.
We’ll see what another application does. Or if it’ll take 3.
Got a hodgepodge of some other weeds here, too.
And in areas where I got good coverage you can see it smoked the Bermuda, sedges, and everything else that was growing. While leaving the St Augustine looking nice and healthy!

Very promising pictures. That Dallisgrass is hurting.

Gonna take multiple apps in summer to knock it back. Best timing for real longer term control is fall Sept 15 through October since it is a perennial. And repeat again in successive falls.

Here’s those clumps of dallisgrass 2 weeks after the second spraying.
I don’t know if it’s new weeds popping up after treatment, or if there’s just some stuff this concoction just won’t kill. Maybe a little of both. Cause there’s still some green stuff mixed in around all of the dead crap.
ETA: This stuff clearly works well. I don’t know if it’ll completely kill the dallisgrass. But it is definitely putting a hurting on it. And the St Aug is looking beautiful.
For reference, here’s what it looked like when I started in mid April:
Here’s what it looks like now:
Eventually I’ll just nuke the rest of this front corner and lay down more sod. For now I’ll just let it look silly.

What can you spray for it in centipede?

2nd photo, bottom right…
Is that young crabgrass?

I dunno. Probably. Now that I can clearly tell what is St Aug and what isn’t, I’m probably going to go around spot spraying glyphosate where I can get away with it.

So did you spray that entire square or just the outline of it?
Posted on 5/26/25 at 8:32 am to bayoubengals88
The entire area. It’s about a 32’x32’ section. I had bad low spots in that area so I killed the whole thing last year and added some dirt. Then I put some sod squares down to let it fill in. Unfortunately it mostly filled in with weeds and Bermuda. But the St Aug did spread a lot!
