The current governor of Ohio may as well be a democrat: he is so squishy GOPe.
He chose Tressel as Lt. Gov for a reason. The establishment does not want Vivek Ramaswamy.
If Jim Tressel does run, Vivek does not have a chance. Tressel is Ohio's patron Saint of YSU.

Look for Vivek to drop out quietly. The establishment is so insidious, most outside of Ohio won't get this move. Tressel trumps Trump/Vivek in Ohio.

Not surprised. This was thrown out when he got tapped for the lt gov spot. He’ll definitely have a leg up over Viveck, whose star has fizzled some.

Tressel is obvious Ohio celeb power. Tressel would obey the establishment old guard. So no he isn't MAGA.

There are always forward looking strategies in politics. There are people looking out four years and more with political ambitions. Donald Trump's sway will diminish as the next one, two, three and four years progress. So I can see the party splintering. Right now Trump is the glue who holds it together. He needs to do well this year and next to maintain his influence. But I can see the establishment or other factions trying to re-establish their footing.

If lots of others have positioned from the establishment old guard, that is natural. But at the same time the old guard establishment was voted out nationally.
I would think when Ohioians heard Tressel was rando appointed Lt. Gov. the writing was on the wall.
I mean...Tressel was President of YSU- a State University-- but never really any political positions. But same can be said of Vivek...

I've has a mancrush on Senator Tressel since the early 90s.
Asked God to replace coach Cooper with Tressel while watch YSU destroy the overhyped Steve McNair led Alcorn state in the first round of the playoffs at the Ice Castle. That was a good day.
Tressel has always been pragmatic and very smart. He plays to his base.
If the establishment Rs in Ohio think he is the guy, I am good with that.
But I'll admit. I am biased.
He has been loyal to Youngstown. No Idea why with all the money in Columbus.

Although I wish Tressel was more MAGA-aligned, I'm okay with him running, because he should win. Beating Dr. Karen...er, Amy is key, as she is Fauci in a skirt, and the media in Ohio will be all-out to get that Covid C#nt elected. She has everything the xanax popping Chardonnay Whole Foods Market patrons in the German Village and the Short North love, and needs to be stopped. If it takes squishy, somewhat ethically compromised former tOSU coach to do it, fine and Godspeed Coach Tressel.

The fact that people are still holding this out as somehow disqualifying is just crazy to me.
Strip away the actual “can do” layer of the American socioeconomic makeup and what are you left with?
A morbidly obese country full of social media addicts who don’t invest in themselves and just want to live paycheck to paycheck.
If that hurts your feelings or you somehow doubt it, go live in a place like Singapore for a while.
For sure, India has problems too, but they are generally not squandering a massive advantage. Their middle class is booming and has been for a while. Here, we are being hollowed out.

Vivek is "whatever gets me ahead"... right now, maybe that's MAGA... but I can't say I trust the dude all that much, I like that he's smart and on "our side" for the moment but he really gives off Vivek First vibes more than anything else.
