He turns 26 this month, and had been granted a 7th year of eligibility, but his hand injury has forced him to give up football.

He was in the same 2018 recruiting class as Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, and Brock Purdy.

People get frustrated about the current state of NIL, but this guy & Jordan Travis are an example of why it’s a good thing. Done playing football due to injury

I liked Rising 3 years ago but it was past time to move on, he was holding the program hostage with his will he won’t he shenanigans.

Actually would’ve been his 8th year, not 7th. Crazy.

I’d be cool if the NCAA removed redshirting and added an extra year, but also didn’t allow extra eligibility for injuries. So everybody gets up to 5 years, and you can play every game each of those 5 years. But if you tear your ACL 3 times, too bad, that’s life, you don’t get an extra year.

If a HS senior (who doesn’t play in college) tears his ACL while training the summer before his senior year, his career is over, but he learns a great life lesson at 17 years old about how to manage adversity, and that sometimes life just sucks but you carry on. A 23-year-old could do the same.
