I know many do not care, but it was interesting to see that someone is trying to hold U of M accountable. It may be news for now but evaporates later as no big deal.

I will just go on the record as saying I prefer that he was still a tiger.

He’s going to get a lot of scrutiny from the national media.

We will see if he’s a bust or success. But he had us riding high.

I hope it blows up into an untenable situation for Underwood and Michigan and that Underwood decides before the season that he's not going to play and that it ends up in court.

Not that I hate Underwood or Michigan, but the more these things keep happening, the faster NIL gets under control. The NCAA can't do much anymore, but when these lawmakers and Judges have to start dealing with shite from their Alma Mater's, stuff will start happening.

I can’t read the article without going to the app, but is this a tax evasion situation? With everything legal, I don’t get the point of trying to hide it, and Underwood would have to report it as income. Otherwise now we are talking a serious legal issue.

Half of this is basically money laundering. These kids have agents and financial advisors. They can funnel cash for “endorsements” to Bryce Underwood’s LLC and they can just move to the cash around to help ease some tax burden. Even coaches will get hired under their LLC to help out on taxes.

The "Essentially Sports" site is absolutely the worst sports site of all. It's like the National Enquirer of sports. I actually quit reading that site completely because nothing it posted was ever what they made it out to be.

Author of the article is a moron. Conflates On3's "NIL value" with any meaningful statistic. Also thinks some recent "team NIL worth" list is an actual, verified list.

Michigan isn't hiding anything. Whole article is nonsense.

ETA: not trying to be a dick to OP. I know these articles get sourced to MSN and it appears like it has teeth. It just doesn't.

Yeah, I didn't mean it as a slight to the OP. I read a handful of articles on that site before I came to the conclusion that it's all bogus. Every article I have read from that site was on MSN, so they must be affiliated.

MSN is a big aggregator. I'm not sure how you make it onto their wire, but it seems like it's become increasingly easy - especially in the sports section.

Tons of articles like this that lack substance and are full of speculation, at best.

Barstool is helping but the money is coming from Oracle fouder.
