I feel like it goes unnoticed but aside from 2022, Jay’s first year, we have really had solid starting pitching. This was not the case for a stretch of years before Jay came along.
23 - Skenes, Floyd.
24 - Holman, Jump.
25 - Anderson, Anthony.
Game 3 at the college level is always questionable but in the portal era to go 3 years straight years with really high quality front line starting pitching has been so refreshing.

Here’s to Evans shoving tomorrow.

I’m confident with Evans and Cowan. I’m not confident in the offense

Feel like ‘22 was his best coaching year with the starting pitching considering what he had.

I agree with your post. But imo the biggest change since Jay’s first year has been the defense.

CPM always had great defense. Defense in Jay’s first year was really bad. Improving every year to now it’s a strength and not a weakness

He may be coming around. We had a single in each game today which could be a sign of it no longer being massive bomb or pop out. He may be lining things up a bit more.

We need Stanfield to catch the ball in the field and not go 0-4 all strike outs.
Need Milam to undo the sophomore slump
Lost all offensive production from catcher position
Need all the rest to get a timely hit

I don’t disagree but Holman was really good too.

We need more from everyone tomorrow! Today was not good offensively, but at least we got incredible starting pitching. I also loved what I saw from Rizy today.

Skenes couldn’t be touched, but he had run support.

Anderson and Eyanson get a bunch of Jack wagons that think they are good at baseball.

They have to throw compete games to ensure a win.

Rizy impressed me too that would be a huge bonus to a really good team. Sometimes it gets going for freshman right at the very end. Biggest and most positive thing I saw in game one loss very impressive from his previous work.

The '24 class is going to produce at least 2 top line starters out of Evans, Rizy, Schmidt, and Williams.

If Evans gets comfortable starting watch out.

Just need to give the bats some 90s roids to turn the popups to bombs.

I'm not a CPM defender and his last years the pitching staff had really fallen off. But we had some very good pitchers come through here during his time...Marceaux, Labas, Walker, Newman, Sanders, Jaden Hill, Cole Henry, Poche, Lange, Gausman, Nola, Ranaudo, Cotton, Ott
