A friend of mine will be passing through tonight on his way to work a music festival, and he asked me if I had any dinner recs. I haven't been to Monroe in like 30 years so I'm hoping one of y'all can help me guide him in the right direction.
Open to anything and will reach town around 7:30.

Parish is the best restaraunt in the area. The friend should be able to sit at the bar or possibly a patio table.

Food at Parish is amazing.
One of my new favorites in Monroe is Tailgators. Good food in casual atmosphere on the river with awesome outdoor seating.

Is that Cory Bahr? Didn’t he have another place in Monroe?

Yes. Several before this one…Nonna, Cotton (still in operation, but under a different chef) and Canard’s.
Cory has a coffee shop running and a sushi joint preparing to open.

Chef Bahr was also with the King’s steakhouse on 19th for several years. I forgot that and the name of the place.
