They’re not going anywhere. Will be interesting with some of the major contracts coming up.

Further proof that it’s moronic for Jay/PGA to think they can just wait around to make a deal… LIV isn’t going anywhere, but hopefully we can see the best golfers in the world playing each other more than 4x/year soon

I think a deal will get done once Jay is out

Very doubtful imo. Not sure what leverage LIV has outside of a threat to sign big players. At this point its clear they're not a viable league. Signing Rahm hasn't helped

Not only that, but the PGA just keeps rolling along like nothing happened. I hope the PGA doesn’t cave, but money always wins and PIF can offer a ton.

I figured every golf fan wants to see the best golfers in the world play each other more than 4x/year

The majors are not the PGA. No one gives a shite about most any of the actual PGA events. That's why players left to begin with.
The only thing keeping the tour afloat for now is the influx of cash from that private equity company.

Maybe, but hiring anybody from the current NASCAR organization to fix anything ain’t the move, unless Phelps is the only golden goose in that operation and is trying to distance himself from the France family.
They’ve been a dumpster fire for almost two decades now. Less viewers, lower attendance, drivers salary’s down, sponsorship issues, etc. etc.

They don’t even have an active application for OWGR points. In no way can the talks be “advanced”

They’re talking with OWGR about changing LIV’s format in order to get approval. It sounds like this will eventually happen & you will be wrong again

Neither of comments from you two are mutually exclusive. He said that talks cannot be advanced if they don't have an active submission. You said it will happen eventually. Eventually can mean 3 years from now.

So if LIV completely stops operating like LIV and instead conforms to be like other actual tours they can get eventually get world ranking points, and that would make me wrong for saying a “tour” like LIV would never get points and the talks are currently advanced
To get points LIV would first have to give up their guaranteed money contracts and places to players and be an actual tour with true “relegation”. If it were to do that it’s self implosion as well

You think money is the only thing keeping the PGA tour afloat? How about LIV? Love for the game and fan interest is keeping it alive ?

You have no idea what LIV “needs” to do in order to get points. They will have to implement a legit “drop zone” (where 3 current LIV players finished last year) & enforce relegation and promotion, but I wouldn’t expect any huge changes to their tournaments
Posted on 4/30/25 at 12:26 pm to JimTiger72
So if you have a legit drop zone, how can you also have guaranteed huge money contracts?
You can’t is the answer
You can’t is the answer

This is purely because someone saw people saw the new LIV CEO talking to Immelman at the Masters. Wouldn’t exactly call that “advanced” or “serious”

Lol ok. Not everyone is Brooks Koepka.
You can see it in Jon Rahm’s dead eyes how much he regrets taking the money to play in this clown show league. He’s gone after this contract.

Yep. He thought he was more important than he is and they’d immediately make a deal. Turns out people don’t tune in to watch Rahm play golf
