Probably the worst BM ever. The story sucked and the acting was shockingly bad.

The main black girl is the worst actor I’ve ever seen in a major tv show. She’d be really bad at a local high school play.

Can't disagree. It took me three viewings to make it through. Kept falling asleep.

She ruined what could have been a cool and interesting concept.

Have the Black people taken over Hollywood now?? Every movie coming out now practically stars a mostly Black ensemble. The movies Sinners and the Woman in Black or the Yard or something like that. To say their only 14% of the pop. seems wrong, more like 41%.

She had a show on HBO called Insecure that was popular with black women. I've seen her in other shows and movies and I thought she was decent, but she didn't fit here.

I mean, besides those two movies, what else is there?

If blacks are 14% of the population, then about 1 in 7 movies, or 1 in 7 actors, will probably be black.

They over corrected during Covid and me too

I was watching all 3 major news morning shows at the gym on the TVs the other day and noticed most of the hosts were black. NBC had Al Roker and two other black hosts. 13% of the population. Where are all the Asians and Hispanics?

I was just using those 2 movies as an example, you know it's a lot more movies then just those two. But as a poster just mentioned, they're dominating tv with sitcoms, reality tv shows and news shows.

I was thinking more about recent movies, but I see your point now. Yeah I agree that there's overrepresentation.

yeah, it's just kinda crazy to me because it's like the White guy is an endangered species now. You watch the commercials now and all I see is the Black guy married to his White wife with biracial kids or he's married to another different race of women. I mean they're really pushing the woke envelope. Smh

The first 2 episodes (Common People/Bette Noire) are classic Black Mirror that I really enjoyed.

Eulogy wasn’t my favorite, but I didn’t get bored like Ive seen a lot of people online say. Im watching the rest this weekend.

1. Commercials? In abundance....what % of the population consists of a black and white couple with Asian kids? It must hover around 70% going by commercials.

2. TV shows, Talkie talk shows, morning shows, local news, sports talk shows, etc....punching way above 14%....especially sports panel shows, that's become ESPN and the like being a facsimile of the old days of BET and WB.

3. Movies....out of the 3 , representation is the most realistic based on population %....movies are a little more diligent about your CV containing more than just your head shot photo and checking the boxes like Commercials where you don't need acting talent. Movies, you can't hide lack of talent very well, so its the least shameless in terms of DEI while Commercials and round table debate shows are just checking the demographic and gender boxes to an enormous degree that doesn't reflect reality....but its TV, just like Reality TV, its not reality...so who cares that companies think showing the rainbow coalition within every nuclear family means sales, even if wrong, they get DEI shakedown artists off their back.
