Instead of restoring access to The Associated Press newswire, as required by a federal judge, the Trump administration is removing the wire position in the daily press corps rotation altogether.

The change appears designed to withstand legal scrutiny while still disadvantaging The AP, which was singled out by President Do?nald Trump earlier this year for still using the name Gulf of Mexico.

I cannot agree with this on the face of it -

IF the only reason the WH can come up with for the AP exclusion was the "G.O.A" bullshite, then I say bullshite on the decision.

Primarily because it SEEMS so fricking petty.

Don't make official decisions based on obviously petty self-centered reasons.

There are too many actual offenses committed by the news services that are being overlooked - and the rest of the news universe will rightfully concentrate on the f'n PETTINESS of the decision.

And it cannot be anything other than personal pettiness - there are no inherent national concerns that revolve around the naming of the GOM. or goa

Journalists that refuse to accept reality have no right to question the president in the OO. No one does. Get over it pussy.

It’s like when your wife’s frenemy comes by everyday and stirs up trouble for her and you decide to slam the door in her face instead of welcoming her in like you’ve been doing for decades.

This is what I suggested.

If the judge says it’s unfair to ban one wire service and not the others, ban all wire services.

Judge happy.

The wire services can still report on the press conferences. They aren’t owed a chance to ask questions.

It’s petty because it deserves to be petty. These fricks never report news. They report opinions as news. Those spots are reserved for journalists not columnists.

There is no constitutional right to a seat in the White House press pool.

Seriously. And for what? All they've really done is spent the last decade trying to personally and professionally destroy him. Such pettiness.

Wire service is a relic of the past. No need for it anymore given everything is live streamed on YouTube and X now.

No sense in keeping that bs going. Would only serve to artificially keep the fake news enemy of the people media to survive past their expiration date

In this country, there are rights and privileges. You don't have a right to be in the press corps. You need to be credentialed and the White House provides those. Rather than cater to one, the AP, The White House decided (within it's right) to not include wire services. Therefore, no discrimination and the Court can't compel him to change course.

Good.

Someone read one of our posters' suggestions on this.

PS - I'm a firm believer Stephen Miller reviews Political Talk every morning, as he drinks his coffee, for inspiration.

There are thousands of news outlets in the country. They obviously cannot all have access.

The AP has no more right to a spot than the Opelousas Daily World.
