He played well, and obviously overcame some demons(shank? on 13, toe-d 2nd shot on 18), kudos & spoils to the victor…

Conspiracy Theories are in full effect on Reddit… Rosey missed the birdie putt on purpose.

He looked focused but with a huge amount of nerves.
Was there Friday & Saturday and within feet of him… you could tell he was on a mission but nervous about it at the same time. He took a drink on 17 where we were camped out in between 16 & 17 and kinda spaced out for a moment… that’s when you saw the nerves.

Glad he won as I think he deserved it. Dude has been trying to get this monkey off his back for
A while. Glad he did it.

On a side note, did anyone else think the jacket ceremony was kind of odd with Scheffler? Dude just walked off without so much as a well done or slap on the back to Rory. I get that he’s competitive and disappointed in his performance, but he looked pissed off.

Yes he didn't say a word and it seemed like Jim Nantz was told in advance not to ask him to

Those green jacket rooms have been awkward for awhile now. Need to try something different

The ceremony was odd. I was expecting them to recognize the low amateur. They also didn’t do the trophy presentation formally. It didn’t seem as polished as normal.

Guess you didn’t watch the ceremony that happened on the green later on?

No I didn’t. I ain’t picking on Scottie. It just seemed awkward. I’ve never seen last years champ just walk off without off without any interaction whatsoever.

Was the trophy presentation more typical?

Congrats to Rory, although not one of my favorite players, he hit some clutch shots today when he needed it.

I've been watching the Masters for better part of 40 years and this has to be the worst televised one so far. It seemed so predetermined and the announcers seemed to be rooting for Rory from the start. I know it was for a career grand slam, but Dottie was over the top gushing over every shot he hit. Nantz has definitely last his touch, and the ceremony at the end seemed very awkward.

My take is that Scottie, whether coached/asked/made personal decision, to make the spotlight about the new champion. That’s all I read into it.

Don't worry, you only have 10 more years of him. he said the 100th masters will be his final

You’re probably right. I just watched the whole trophy presentation on the app and Scottie was classy as he always is.

Scheffler absolutely ignores fans at tournaments. Every player takes the time at the end of rounds to thank and acknowledge the participation of their walking scorers and standard bearer. Signs balls for them and other items if they ask. Not Scheffler. He goes to the scorers table and bails out the side door so he doesn’t have to face fans waiting to see him. He is very arrogant. His walking scorer and standard bearer were upset when he bolted after Sunday at the Fed Ex at East Lake last year. He didn’t even bother to thank them. I was there because my daughter was SB for Morikawa on Sunday and he signed balls, her hat, and took several photos with her. Noticed all the players doing that, except Scheffler. The guys who guard the scorers room said he is known for that every year. Lost a lot of respect for him. He is not a good ambassador of the game.

When he piped the drive on 18 for the playoff I knew he wasn’t going to hit a f’d up 2nd shot again……didn’t figure it would be that good but damn what a shot that was.

Until I saw the ceremony on the green I was kind of wondering why Scottie didn’t at least shake the man’s hand…..still wonder that a little but no big deal…..all is good.
