Our best (potential) offensive lineup

If I was Jay, and I'm far from an SEC baseball coach, I would try an adjustment to max out our offense as much as possible and hopefully not deplete our defense too much. You gotta remember, in 2023, we did what we had to to get the best bats in the lineup (Morgan in LF, Dugas on 2B, Jobert in RF), while we had better gloves sitting because they couldn't hit. I would just consider trying this in a midweek matchup and see how it works...
LF Curiel
1B Jones
3B Dickinson
2B Pearson
SS Milam
DH Frey
C Hernandez
RF Larson/ Brown battle
CF Stanfield
2B is one of the easier positions to play. Dugas, for example was just thrown there because we needed a spot for him in the lineup. I guarantee that Pearson could play it as well as him and not be a liability.
Dickinson is a great infielder and was originally brought here for 3B.
I know Reaves and Bras had hits today, but they both are very flawed right now and are liabilities IMO.
I get that Larson and Brown have also has their issues this season, but both are better options in the lineup than the 3Bmen we're rotating. I really believe that Larson is a bat that we need in this lineup if he can find it again. He's had great moments here and in the Cape.

Any lineup with Jones in the two hole is straight up retarded

The lineup doesn't matter as long as they all keep trying to pull and/or lift everything.

Didn't Tanks bat in the two hole last season?
Maybe he's there because betting third or fourth gets in his head too much and he would try to do too much. Pearson seems like a guy that can mentally handle it and not try to do too much.

Alright, so what's the issue with this?
Can Pearson not play 2nd? He's done it before.
Can Dickinson not play 3rd?
Are Reaves and Bras better hitters than Larson and Brown?
Or is it that our offense is fine right now and hasn't looked like arse since the OU series and should be left alone?

Start by finding the players that are actually the best hitters and then plug them in to the lineup. The fact that you misplaced Braswell for Pearson essentially when Bras has one of the best batting averages on the team in SEC play. Brown > Pearson and despite brown having a bad weekend last week, he’s still better than Pearson.

I appreciate an actual opinion on the rant that’s not loaded with emotional response.

Tommy batted second last year which worked. Laviolette, A&M bats second and Caglianone batted second for Florida last year. I would prefer Dickinson or Milam at #2 over Jones.

Are you not noticing a trend here?
Like 90% of todays lineups college thru professional ranks feature the team’s best hitter at second in the lineup.

Forgot Charlie Condon, Georgia also hit second.

Honestly, it's like we got a bunch of guys up there that don't have much power but swing like they do

Pearson and Larson belong in this lineup.
