Pretty impressive. Props to the team and coach Joe on their accomplishment.

I just checked because this is the second thread on this. My 1A high school baseball team went 28-4 one year and lost to a 4a team, 2 3a teams, and a 3a Arkansas team all year. We pretty much beat everybody's arse that was our same classification.

Congrats to these kids for getting it done, it’s still hard to win every game, but I didn’t know this was some monumental achievement

yeah, i don't know anything about this team. saw it posted on the local facebook sports page and was impressed. figured the MSB would be interested considering it's the most statewide all time.

Only 4 district games? That’s weird, why only 4 games total? They played and beat some 5A teams. Props to them.

This. I mean I respect the record, but there are some TERRIBLE districts in this state, especially in the smaller classifications. It’s not uncommon at all for teams to have just a couple of losses to 5A teams or whatever.

Weird that this is getting so much attention unless I’m missing something on their schedule. I’ve never even heard of this school.

Thread got removed. It was getting out of hand and off topic.

You're good Coon. It got deleted. Chicken was in the thread, so I am sure he had a good reason. Someone even called out one of a rival school's coach.

The OP scrubbed all of his posts in the thread and the title.

Yeah, I went to a 1A/2A school and we didn't lose a district basketball game from I think 2006 to 2016. Lost 4 total district games between Katrina and COVID

OG thread said CC players go to school for free and they're all old as hell but also scared of Jesuit. Just to tie it all together for those new to the topic.

I’m not retyping my posts from the other thread at the moment. I’ve seen Covenant Christian play. They are legit.

I don't disagree. I know some guys out there. They work hard, play hard, etc. I wouldn't say the talent level is elite/deep but they're a gritty, cohesive group with plenty enough talent. I thought they would win state last year. They're extra determined this year.

I’m definitely not overlooking Opelousas Catholic in D4.

Correct. Opelousas, Vermillion, and the Ascension schools will all put up a fight. Covenant has a nice 1-2 punch on the mound with some other arms for support and constant pressure on offense. Those other contenders get a bit flat after a few pitchers and the top of the order.

VC was there at Erath watching CCA and Erath (who they play this week). Saw VC beat Vandebilt Catholic.

I’m at Erath vs Catholic New Iberia.

Some of those districts with like one legit baseball team, they just let that team do the scheduling and do what’s best for their power rating

Pretty soon we’ll have districts that don’t even play each other, and the district champions will be the team with the best power rating

Most schools in Louisiana play their district opponents once and then have a district tournament towards the end of the season. From what I understand the first time they play is for seeding. So whatever the standings is after everyone plays once they seed the tournament.
