Nah, I'm all for lifting the other tariffs, but we should keep the tariffs on China and force our supply chain to be weaned off them.

I think this is probably correct
But I just can't imagine it's the real endgame for the administration because I don't think it's feasible (politically or otherwise) to get enough traction to be sustaining before Trump is out of office.
And I think the pain of it may guarantee Vance isn't there to continue the work. It's just that massive of an undertaking.

If we come out of this term without balancing trade or the budget, Trump either failed because he was neutered by Congress and the Judiciary, or he surrendered. Either way we will have lost WWIII without firing a shot.
