Pick your site or chart, I don't care. It looks like we are doing pretty well. Why do things have to be destroyed then rebuilt?

Search for manufacturing rankings and you'll see things like this.

I don't love Ben Shapiro, but in that video linked the other day, he made the point like a poor person now lives better than a middle class guy from the '50's. So, what's the problem?

The problem is the continuing rise of dependency on other countries for critical goods and services that the USA can no longer produce.

China GDP rose 78% in 10 years and we grew 28%. Your take away is things are going fine?

Much easier to grow faster when you start with a exponentially smaller number

Gdp is the size of your economy.

Doesn’t necessarily equate to people there doing well.

We are doing well btw. But we should strive to be the best.

It doesn’t factor in social aspects. Education in this country has greatly declined while the price has increased. This is an issue that isn’t measured by your gdp.

Covid was another wealth transfer. After 4 years the top 1% got wealthier and the middle got squeezed by inflation.

Amount of people dying of starvation in the us doubled during Covid.

Hey, we still have the highest gdp.

Infrastructure could have been used a boost.

But that gdp.

Trade will benefit both parties.

If it wasn't China, it would have been someone else (a combination, likely, given the population of China)

Is this just anti-China rhetoric or do y'all think we could have bettered ourselves via trade without our partners benefiting?

We are.

No country has a mesh of volume output and per capita output both in terms of GDP or manufacturing

Out of control entitlements?

Massive debt?

A weakening dollar?

Are you really that dumb?

Long live the rapid, self-consuming spread of your TDS.

Yes, anyone should be able to research to confirm by GDP the US has the largest economy with China second. Other measures, such as purchasing power indicate China has the larger economy and China’s economy continues to grow at a faster pace than the US.

Manufacturing, China is the king and depending upon reference source, the gap between China and #2 US is significant (almost double) and growing.

So, it’s not quite as clean, simple as you present in your suggestion of acceptance of the status quo.

Our federal deficit is larger than the 8th largest economy in the world. Thats just the deficit. We collect more in tax revenue than the size of the 3rd largest economy in the world. And thats before we get to state/local debt and revenues.

But yes, everything is going fine

The country is broke.

Yes if countries got rid of their tariffs, they would benefit by removing the irrational policy.

That should be the goal.

China, whether you understand it or not, has been at war with us since day 1.

You’re about as far from a liberal as possible, but you do recognize a shite show when you see one. How are you still on this board? These folks aren’t in your league.
