Who are the Elliott Smith stans on this board?

Forgive my use of Stan, but I feel like you don’t just like Elliott Smith. Maybe it was me and maybe it was me at the time but nothing evokes more in me than Elliott Smith songs. I warned my kid against listening to him for fear of it feeding any depression.
Possibly the most underrated singer songwriter ever. Everything else seems like plastic bullshite to me. “Sweet Baby James” okay.

I was a big fan of his around 98-00. I saw him live in New Orleans, it was a reunion of people who were picked last in gym class. He hung out after the show, but I was too intimidated to say anything.

Stan is a super fan that's obsessed over what or who it is. Term comes from the Eminem song about a hardcore fan named Stan who wants to be Eminem and ends up killing his girlfriend and unborn kid trying to gain Eminem's attention
