Someone forgot to tell Gareth Edwards that it's a Jurassic Park movie and not Godzilla

"Jurassic World Rebirth" debuted an epic new trailer at #CinemaCon featuring Scarlett Johansson battling a fire-breathing T-Rex.

“It has been a life long dream to be in a ‘Jurassic’ movie…for the last 15 years I’d reach out and say I’m available,” Johansson told the press.

“She’s too expensive,” Gareth Edwards, the director quipped.

I mean, they have to try something different regardless of how dumb it might be. That's what happens when you're on film #7

The TellTale game actually offered a different and much more grounded concept of people working for INGEN being trapped on the island during the original movie. That idea is way better than anything that has gone out recently

I agree.

They should try not making any more of them. Scarlett Johansson was nine years old when the first movie was released. When this, the seventh movie of the franchise, releases this summer she will be 41 years old. Enough is enough.

The last 3 all made over a billion. This new one is highly likely to be successful as well. Why would a studio stop making them?

I can't tell if Variety is the one saying this or Gareth is just having fun.

From the linked article -

There’s a dramatic attempt to steal the eggs of a quetzalcoatlus that ends in a high-flying race to escape. Throw in a mosasaur attack that nearly capsizes the boat of a group of researchers and their armed guides. Add in some kind of mutated dinosaur that basically looks like a fire-breathing T-Rex. Oh, and for the less bloodthirsty viewers, there’s also the appearance of a cuddly baby triceratops. Only the creature starts freaking out because — you guessed it — a much more menacing primordial beast needs a snack and only our fearless heroes will hit the spot.

So, key words "looks like", but is it?

Don't know.

It's called "Jumping the Shark".

And Jurassic Park did that a few movies ago.

So easy...small group has to go to the original island to recover something. Dinosaurs are all over the island. That is scary enough.

Yes that is true, but I feel like the family and kid angle made it not work to much campy

I feel like I can stomach a fire breathing T-Rex more than whatever bullshite they’ll use to justify a kid being there.
