We already had a Voter ID law. This referendum makes it part of the state constitution so future legislatures and courts can't change it or strike it down.

Now is the time to strike on more states with this initiative, leftists mistakenly believe Republicans cheated to get Trump elected and will support this effort currently.

Is this at all indicative how the SC race might go?

Did they remove indefinite confinement?
You can vote without ID that way.
I'm sure I'm the increase wasn't fraud....

In the 2020 presidential election in Wisconsin, approximately 215,000 voters claimed "indefinitely confined" status to vote absentee. This number reflects a significant increase from the 2016 presidential election, when about 57,000 voters used this designation, marking a nearly four-fold rise. Under Wisconsin law, voters who are "indefinitely confined because of age, physical illness, or infirmity, or disabled for an indefinite period" can request absentee ballots without providing photo ID, a provision that saw heightened use during the COVID-19 pandemic. This figure comes from data reported by the Wisconsin Elections Commission and aligns with analyses of absentee voting trends during that election cycle.

I have a short, easy to pronounce name so people working the election where I vote don't have a problem. But some people have names like Szczerbiak which are a challenge. Presenting a driver's makes it so much easier.
BTW, get your real ID, it will come in handy when flying or visiting Canada.

They have already called it for Crawford. I hope Trump cuts off all Federal funding to Wisconsin. At least Florida came through for us though.

Sorry. It was meant to be somewhat rhetorical.
You can vote by the hundreds of thousands there without voter ID as long as they claim indefinitely confined.
So I'm not sure how this codified into the state constitution helps.
One popular instance the a Dem leader voted indefinitely confined and was out skiing they day of the election in another state.

According to their website, these are the exceptions to voter id (its crap and will continue the fraud)
Voter ID Exceptions
Photo ID is not required for the following absentee voters:
Military voters
U.S. citizens who last resided in Wisconsin before moving to a foreign country, with no intent to return to the U.S.
Confidential voters
Voters indefinitely confined due to age, physical illness, infirmity or disability
Care facility residents voting absentee
Voters Confined to their Homes
Age, physical illness, infirmity or disability might confine a voter for an unspecified period of time. These voters may request absentees for all elections. They must return a ballot every election to keep their absentee status active.
These permanent absentee voters do not need to provide ID. The witness signing the absentee envelope certifies the voter’s identity.
