She sounded pretty frustrated with the game this morning. Hard to recruit, especially when you have to continue to recruit kids already on your roster. I just don't think she has the fire to continue on with the current state of the game much longer.

Couldn't you have asked this in the other thread talking about the exact same thing?

Saban did. NIL and the portal changed everything. Under the previous college structure Saban would would’ve stayed at least another 3 or 4 years. Just listen to him talk about the current college football situation.

Agree! It's only going to get worse.
When democrat politicians get involved you know a shite storm will follow.

21-22 team - 26-6, 2nd round of tournament
22-23 team - 34-2, NCAA Champions
23-24 team - 31-6, Elite 8
24-25 team - 31-6, Elite 8
Tell us a again how she "doesn't have the fire".
Also, look at her record at Baylor. From 2000 - 2021 she went to the tournament every year except 1 (2002).
21 seasons - 1 season not reaching NCAA tournament. 2019 season postseason not held butthey had a 28-2 record.
Eliminated 1st round - 1 time
Eliminated 2nd Round - 3 times
Reached Sweet 16 - 5 times
Reached Elite 8 - 6 times
Reached Final 4 - 1 time
Won National Championship - 3 times
She has the exact same wining percentage at LSU vs. Baylor.

She may be upset- but the portal has been good to us and her
Can’t be too bothered when u lose a player when u get portal players every yr

I agree with you 100% as long as you are replacing them with the same or with better quality of player.

She will most likely take Sabans path.

I'm not going to try to get inside her head and speak to what fire she has left, but I can tell you that the success she's still having doesn't tell us anything about her fire. Just because you're good at something, doesn't mean you have a desire to keep doing it. I hope she does, but I can't possibly know.
Saban was on top of his game, still, but walked away, and has made it clear he was tired of dealing with it. I'll use player examples: Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson (two Lions, oddly enough) both walked away from the game when they were still dominating. They were really good, and had the competitive fire to want to do well, so long as they were out there, but they were both tired of the grind, and so hung it up.
I hope she at least finishes her contract, but it would not surprise me to see her retire at any give time, with the way things are. I thought Saban would coach until they forced him out, and so it said a lot when he retired.

Over. For those comparing her to Saban, she is 10 years younger. I don’t think she’s ready to hang it up.
