Really hope Schmidt can come out that B group. He’s going to adjust to this level of ball eventually, just hope it’s soon.

I don’t know, but Myers has everything needed to be the man. Except he throws a lot of balls. Somehow someway make that guy have control, and this season looks incredible

Not sure why Dorsey isn’t getting more opportunities. He’s looked decent the few times out this year and was pretty successful at USF last year. Worth a shot at this point

Benge and ware can probably give you an inning. Sometimes they will suck. I feel Rizy can give you one time through the order. Sometimes it might go bad. Noot can give us pitching with a lead which we need. Cowan and Evans are beast. Mayer needs to eat up mid week innings. Schmidt needs to pitch mid week until he throws the curve for a strike. Once he does that he will be a weapon out of the pen in SEC play.

Obviously we need Guidry back and healthy. His experience in big situations is essential.

Rizy and Schmidt have the most potential to go multiple innings if they can put it together. Hopefully at least one can.

Noot will be able to either spot start or come out if the pen in the postseason. He could be really valuable.

We could really use Ware and Benge getting to the point where they can just reliably eat 1 or 2 innings when called upon.

The rest seem like a crap shoot this season.

We had multiple pitchers do things they had never done before to win the CWS in 2023. Ack, Herring, Floyd

Let’s hope we can replicate that.

The bullpen will continue to develop
LSU has enough and I think a few of these guys will continue get better over course of season with more innings

This is more what we need to do to be a top seed running a SEC gauntlet without a Paul Skenes going on fridays right now though unlike 2023. I mean we have 2 sweeps but those two may very well be the two worst teams in the conference. They have all been relative battles even when scoring 17 freaking runs. Sometimes we need more than waiting until Omaha like 2023.

Losing Devin Sheerin might be more painful than we expected. I see Noot becoming that 3rd bullpen beast but Schmidt being that guy would great. Also, if Guidry ever gets healthy he could eat up some scoreless innings!

Did Dylan Thompson die or something? Why hasnt he pitched all season? He was somewhat effective in the offseason and brings a really different look. I just dont understand not exploring all options at this point unless he's hurt (which he may be).

they were reluctant to go to Will Hellmers most of last season then he stepped up huge in the SECT and decided he was a higher tier reliever after that. Threw 10.2 IP in the postseason (giving up 0 ER) after throwing 12.2 IP all season prior.

I'd really like to see Ware get extended innings on Tuesday.

I think it's mental for him at this point. He looked the part early on in the season vs DBU, hoping we can get him back on track.

Wasn’t he hurt to start the year? In his first appearance I thought I heard the announcers mention he had only recently been able to go.

There are a lot of good arms there. They just have to decide they wanna be that guy. I see 5 or 6 options outside of Cowan and Evans that have the stuff to be dominant.

We really will need for it to be Ware and Williams down the stretch. We are missing a lefty out of the pen right now.

I also think Primeaux could get some valuable innings.

Feel like Ware should even out more. That ERA is high for a 1.15 WHIP which is pretty good.

I think he just needs more mound time. I might start him tomorrow and see if he can go 5 or 6. Would burn him for the weekend, obviously, but I think you sacrifice him short term to have him ready long-term. But that’s only if Jay thinks he has the mental makeup to be able to do it in May/June. He doesn’t have to have balls as big as Evans—very few freshmen do—but he does have to have a little bit of moxie to him. Maybe that’s in him if he can gain some more confidence with success—and experience—in the midweek.

Speaking of freshmen with big balls, I think everybody needs to forget about Guidry being a contributor to the pen this year. His velo ticked up in the fall, I believe, but I think it was back down in the spring before he got hurt. Or maybe he was already hurt and that’s why. Regardless, even if he were to magically heal today, he’s probably sitting 85/86. And after 2 full years of everybody seeing his 12/6 “slider,” I think he’s gotta get up to where he’s sitting 90/91 to be effective. And I’m not sure there’s enough time for him to ramp up to that.

I think we should forget about Guidry and just take anything he may be able to give us as just lagniappe. Even if that’s just 1 out in a regional. Sucks for him and us that he got hurt, but I don’t think it’s fair to count on him as being some kind of savior when/if he comes back.

Not so sure about Primeaux. He wasn’t even throwing competitive pitches this weekend.
