The primary problem with society is the balance between peoples’ confidence and competence. We are living in a time with likely the least amount of common sense in history, yet people believe the access to modern technology makes them intellectually superior to those who lived before us. Ironically it is this technology and the ease of living in abundance that makes us so mentally weak.

My daughter is a liberal. Me and her mother are staunch conservatives. I sent her to private school and to the best college. Her education cost about $350k in all. And she grew up in Alabana! Where did we go wrong?

Well said. Society use to filter stupid people out through direct conversation. That doesn’t happen now. Everyone has a voice. Everyone has their truth. Everyone can find something that validates their asinine opinions.

Patience brother. I did the same. Sent my daughter to boarding school up north, and she now goes to Swarthmore. She WAS liberal AF.
Now she has seen real liberals up there and she is changing her opinions. She once “hated” the south, but is now looking at medical schools in the south. Hang in there. Never give up. Love them, be consistent, and they will come around.
