Hope all you FDB/FBD folks are doing well.

My wife and I will be in Austin for the day/night tomorrow night.

we have a late lunch at Elizabeth St Cafe, but wanting to see what brewery recs yall got close to downtown.

We have a concert at Stubbs downtown at 7 and our airbnb is downtown. I would love to get out to Jester King but we do not have time.

Just looking for quick finger foods and beers before the show or in between check-in and Reservations.

From Downtown I would go East Side. I would also say there's great places to hang out with local beers that aren't a brewery itself. Lots of places will have the Pinthouse Electric Jellyfish, which is to me is kind of the OG in juicy/hazy IPAs in Austin/Texas, doesn't get distributed widely, and is my favorite. Here would be my east side itinerary:

Zilker - Beer's decent but a good hang; The Spicy Boyz food truck is also good (get chicken and the roti with curry dipping sauce)
Lazarus - My favorite brewery in ATX. If hungry, great carnitas taco
Whisler's - Across the street from Lazarus. More of a cocktail bar, but a good hang if looking to quickly change locations

The new(ish) big pinthouse is a bit out of the way, but it's a nice space. If you're going to drive a bit, though, I think Meanwhile brewing is more fun with a better beer-lover's lineup.

Elizabeth Street is great, breweries that direction that I would recommend are ABGB, and further south is 512. 512-Good beer, but kind of a stand around a warehouse and drink kind of joint. I always only ever picked up there. If you're getting down that way I'd roll back up to the Pinthouse or Meanwhile recommendations instead

Elizabeth St Cafe

Food ain't what it used to be but the prices are higher than ever.

If you're not locked into that plan LORO isn't far away but much better. The guy behind Uchi & Aaron Franklin collaboration. They don't take reservations though.

If you have time - go to the Oasis. Incredible views of Lake Travis. Went last weekend when we were in Austin for the LSU series. There is a brewery next to the restaurant.

Blue Owl does good sours
Pinthouse Pizza does really good haze but also several other styles. They are probably the best overall brewery in Austin other than JK.
Draughthouse is now a brewpub serving their own beer and is a cool hangout place. Their beer is OK. I liked it better when they served other breweries beer.
Zilker consistently disappoints
Lazarus is OK
Live Oak has a Tao room now but I haven't been. Their hefe is world class.

If nothing else, both are great spots to chill with a group.

ETA: As an aside, I know Rainey is a bit polarizing street with the complete overhaul of what made it such a unique street, but Banger's always has a solid list and The Stay Put is right there, as well. Beers are very average, but, again, a great place to hang with a group for awhile. Awesome patio out back.

Scholz Beer Garten

Worth mentioning given the Stubbs show and downtown lodging. It's the original in Austin so not cutting edge or brewing their own but lots of beers to choose from and the food is fine.

Edited to fix link.

I was in Austin a few weeks ago for work and if I went back tomorrow this is what I would do.

Pint house is fine for one beer then leave.

Austin Beer Garden is a good spot with beers you can have a few of because they aren't 8%.

Go eat at LeRoy and Lewis, not that cafe.

Flat Track for coffee.

The food truck park they are in has a little brick n mortar place called Cosmic Cafe that serves craft beer, coffee and cocktails. The Beer Garden is one of my favorite spots in Austin to chill and drink beer. It's down near Elizabeth St Cafe where the OP is going to dinner.

Pinthouse!

I worked there for a few years before I moved away.

Several locations, and the Electric Jellyfish IPA is the Flagship beer. If you go to the Brewhouse on 71 they have a more extensive food menu.

Great beer, great people.

Hold Out is my favorite brewery of the few I’ve been to. Great outdoor area with overall good choices of beer.

Pinthouse has good beer.

Lazarus was just ok and I wouldn’t waste my time going back.
