Update on guidry, a second reliable arm would be great out the pin in long relief.

I’m just going to go ahead and save you the time and worry and tell you that Guidry will be out for game 2 as well.

And then game 3.

Then back to Jay saying we hope to have him back next weekend before they rule him out for that series as well.

Suppose to start throwing from the mound this week but don’t hold your breath waiting on him to return

Guidry will be back in late April/May. It’s not a full rehab like TJ. He would be big for this team right now. Hope he can knock the rust off by June.

I don’t think Guidry is a reliable arm

I honestly don’t either. Guidry is the baseball version of Chris Hilton where the rant loves him and acts like he would change the program if he were playing but he hasn’t ever really done anything

He’s okay, doing better than he was about a month ago.

? He’s thrown 53 career innings with a 3.23 era. He’s not a world beater but he would improve the outlook of our struggling bullpen right now

He was easily the best reliever on the team last year outside of Herring.

Teams really struggle to hit him

As long as he has control of his slider then he’s hard to hit.

If he isn’t feeling his slider then his 89 flat 89mph fastball is a meatball.

He supposedly worked at driveline in AZ in the offseason to try to get his velo up but the fastest I ever saw was 91.6 at max effort.
