If you are in a "safe zone" which means living near an abortion clinic, you are not allowed to say anything negative about abortion even if you are in your own house. If a person complains about your thought crime, you will be arrested.

Here is part of the statement on private property, from the Scottish government website:

quote:

In general, the offences apply in public places within the Safe Access Zones. However, if someone does something in a private place (such as a private residence) within the boundary of a Safe Access Zone that can be seen or heard in the public places that are part of the Zone, an offence could be committed

It gives a list of banned activities, but then says:

quote:

This list is not exhaustive and enforcement agencies will reach their own decisions on whether an offence has been committed.

In other words, whatever the prosecutors "believe" is the law.

JD Vance was 100% correct. The Scots hit back on him by saying he is "spreading misinformation" but everything is right there on their own website.

While I question how much of an issue it is in practice

I'm pretty sure there was a video clip of someone asking a police officer whether praying in your own house could be a violation and they were told yes or given an indefinite answer (ie, something other than "of course not that would be insane")

They REALLY want babies to die.

That’s all I can surmise about this.

I’m not sure. Government has been more heavy handed in Europe so they’ve had to fight back more. We haven’t really been tested yet. In 2020 most people failed the test

This. This. This.

Our Democratic Party (and probably more than a few go along-get along feckless RINOs) are 100% bought into this authoritarian “liberal world order” mind disease that has gripped Western nations.

It’s pure madness and if this country isn’t diligent and puts a Dem (or a Dem approved Pub) back in the WH anytime soon in coming years, we’ll be quickly right back on path to a very bleak future for people who actually value freedom.

The parties don’t matter they’re on the exact same side. They use different rhetoric but work towards the same end

And we’d be taking military aged Syrians to to the USA to live beside the houses of our military personnel’s wives and children at home, while we sent our men to die in Syria.

I agree with you that they have gone off the deep end, but this was a little misleading. If you are in your house, and talking in anywhere near a conversational tone, you can say what you want; it just can’t be heard in the public protected space. It’s fair to assume that if you are in your house preaching against abortion, and you are heard in a public space, then you intended to be heard.

Still a nutty policy, because there should be no anti-free speech public spaces.

What’s the circumference with the kill mill at the center. Is the entire community considered in the circle jerk of absurdity?

Scotland is miles worse to England when it comes to authoritarianism. They convicted a man of a hate crime because he filmed a comedic YouTube video of his pug doing a Nazi salute.

There is a video of an old woman in Scotland being arrested for standing on the street silently with no signs. It was near an abortion clinic. She was accused (maybe admitted, cant remember) of meditating/praying.
