Two years in a row a Louisiana team won their first ever NCAA tournament game

Grambling State in 2024 (we can debate if a play in game should count) and McNeese State in 2025.

Nicholls State
are now the only Louisiana D1 basketball programs to never win an NCAA tournament game. Centenary too but they’re D3 now.

NW State’s was over iowa in 2006 right? I remember they had some guy with a fro and iowa had a bald.

Will never forget this game because it was on that terrible black court. But kind of sad looking back because it was better when tournament games used their own unique court.

You used to be able to visualize old Super Bowls simply by the unique logo. Same with NCAA tournament games and the courts.
Now the Super Bowl logos and NCAA tournament courts are uniform and sterile and there’s no way to remember anything by them.
Everything sucks these days. Who makes these decisions to destroy individualism. Old man yells at cloud.

The only court that can DIAF is taco bell arena in Boise where uab made us do a seppuku

Tulane has only made the tournament 3 times, but they advanced to the second round all three times.
Three appearances / Three wins
Louisiana Tech only has 5 appearances, but have advanced to the second round in three of them. During the Karl Malone years they made the Sweet Sixteen before losing in OT to #1 seed Oklahoma.
Five appearances / Four wins
ULM men might not have a victory in the tournament, but the women’s team have a Final Four appearance.

One of my favorite radio calls ever. My pops and I listened to the game in pretty much it's entirety on AM radio driving back from Opelousas to Shreveport. I believe there was a big blue blood game following the NWST-Iowa game and that's why the crowd is so large and loud.

In today’s game they would have stopped play to make sure the clock was right when the ball went through the net, giving Iowa a free timeout.

I remember getting back to tHotel during spring break, putting the game on right before halftime, and seeing the score like

Yes, I was a student there at the time. I remember a lot of my friends picking NSU to beat Iowa in their brackets.
