I refuse to believe that LSU cannot field a team that can compete with St Mary's. Granted St Mary's is a good basketball program, but I'm looking at their players, and they look to be the players who can't get into ND or a Big 10 school.
That brings me to my point.
St Mary's wins games because of the system they run. They can't take you off the dribble. They are not even that great from distance. Individually, they aren't very good, but as a team, they are formidable.
Kentucky brought back exactly 0 (ZERO) players from last years team. I know LSU is not Kentucky when it comes to basketball, but it can be done. And I'm not saying MM has to make the tourney every year, but I do expect LSU to be in the mix every year. Something is off.
I'm not saying WW is the answer, but I can say, with confidence, that MM is not it either.

Woodward didn’t do what he did for football, women’s basketball and baseball which was stealing another Power 4 team’s proven coach. He rolled the dice with a guy from Murray State and they came up snake eyes.

McDummy could cherry pick every SEC teams 6th man at every position and still wouldn’t win. The guy is in WAY over his head. Fat Woody knows it. He’s just forcing us through another year of misery to get the buyout down.(Which is Fat Woody’s fault to begin with)

Woodward completely blew the hire.
Mistakes happen, bad hires happen, but it's on Woodward to admit that and drum up resources to buy out McMahon. Woodward doesn't seem to have done that.
Throwing more resources, NIL or otherwise, onto his McMahon is bad for everyone, except Woodward in the short term.

You can get away with that in the WCC, get into the tourney, and take your chances. Not so much in the SEC.

Bingo, now he has no pressure to rehire WW, has a year to scour through coaches for 26. If hell freezes over, pigs fly, and somehow McLoser wins something all the better, but he doesn’t have to deal with the WW situation. So he contrives the Need more NIL scam, Wade gets hired, and his plan has worked so far.

This year's LSU team has players going transfer portal at a dizzying pace, Corey Chest just announced he's gonzo (no real secret there as he didn't play at all in LSU's last five games).

It looks like a program in the dumpster because that’s what it is. Coach is awful, the worst we’ve ever had. No direction or vision for the program (no identity). No standard of quality on any front. Too much roster turnover, no local recruiting at all.

The McMen get offended if you bring up coaches at other schools.
Well Johnny Jones at LSU inherited a team that was literally starting a tuba player at center.
In year 3 he was in the tournament.
With no free transfers.
I think that kinda says it all.

The mcmen are total frauds. 1 or 2 of em are LSU basketball fans who are just dumb. The rest are just defending Woody. They don’t watch basketball, mostly they hate basketball but their main function is to defend anything the Admin does no matter what it is. They’re just useful idiots.

If that's the reason, Woodward needs to go first, he's placing himself over the institution.

LSU hasn't had a 'system' ever.
LSU doesn't play system basketball, sadly.
LSU plays street ball and not very well most of the time.
Complete overhaul, startover is badly needed.
Even with that, LSU can't possibly be as bad as they were this year.

Texas just upgraded their coach. The rest of the league is getting better and we are stuck in place. There is a scenario where we are just as bad or worse...
