So is this based on the African origin of homo sapiens theory?

Sweden has been inhabited for about 12,000 years.

We didn't get from this to that in 12,000 years

We've gone from woke to flat out evil in short time. From the Netflix limited series Adolescence

Worked with a black guy that claimed his origins were in Sweden. I guess there is some theory (I believe erroneous) that this is the case. I always thought he was just full of it.

You gotta have a fraction of neanderthal in you to be a real northern European.

Sweden State TV is getting torched in the comments on X

quote:

The SVT series "Historien om Sverige" doesn’t just miss the mark—it obliterates any semblance of historical credibility by casting Black actors as early Swedes, a decision so detached from reality it’s laughable. There’s not a shred of archaeological, genetic, or historical evidence suggesting that sub-Saharan Africans, let alone kings or “kangs,” ever set foot in ancient Sweden, let alone ruled it.

The early inhabitants of Sweden, dating back to the Bromme culture post-Ice Age (around 12,000 BC) and through the Neolithic and Iron Ages, were overwhelmingly of northern European descent—hunter-gatherers, farmers, and later Norse populations with light skin, varied eye colors, and genetics tracing back to local European ancestry, not Africa. Genetic studies spanning 2,000 years (as detailed in ScienceDirect’s research) show influences from the eastern Baltic, British-Irish Isles, and southern Europe, but zero indication of African migration or rulership in Scandinavia during these periods.

This isn’t creative license; it’s historical malpractice.

quote:

Claiming these actors represent the “first Swedes” isn’t just inaccurate—it’s an insult to the rigorous work of the 300 experts SVT supposedly consulted, unless those experts were asleep at the wheel or deliberately pushing a modern political agenda. The Sami people, Sweden’s indigenous group, and the Norse populations that followed were the historical reality, not some fantastical reimagining of a multi-ethnic utopia that never existed.

quote:

Portraying early Swedes as Black isn’t just a stretch; it’s a deliberate erasure of the region’s actual past, trading fact for feel-good fiction to appease contemporary diversity quotas. The backlash on X and in outlets like Newsweek isn’t just justified—it’s overdue. This isn’t storytelling; it’s state-sponsored revisionism, undermining the very history it claims to honor by pretending ancient Sweden was a melting pot it never was. If they wanted to depict kings, they should’ve stuck to the Norse chieftains or Viking jarls—actual historical figures with roots in the region, not imaginary African monarchs who have no business being anywhere near Swedish soil in 500 BC.

Their tax dollars wasted, not mine...

Netflix, Disney, BBC (no not that BBC) love to do this shite. Out-woking each other seems to be their only goal

I wonder many US tax dollars were used to fund this piece of revisionist propaganda.

My company is Swedish. I’m over there a bunch.

This is more like what it looks like now with open immigration.
