New house, limited time, weed ID needed

Hi, I love bermuda, but there's not a single leaf of it at the new house. In time I may do a reno, but there's not a ton of time for it at the moment.
So, I'll try my best with the sparse Centipede in the front yard.
1. Is this young black medic? There's a ton of it.
>
2. I have no idea what this is. It's matted up, and there is no Centipede growing through it. Thoughts?

Will the ol' Cleggs Cocktail work on Centipede this week and cover these weeds? I think I'm good on temps to use it for a couple of weeks huh?

Black medic and Carolina geranium. The second picture possibly a type of plantain. I'll let the Cleggs users talk about that. If you have MSM that will work.

For Craw or anyone who knows: Can I sub Hi Yield 2-4D for Weed Free Zone in the Clegg's Cocktail?

Do you plan to spot spray the weeds, as opposed to full lawn application?
I don’t see an issue with substituting the 2,4 D for the Weed Free Zone (which contains 2,4 D), but use the labeled amount of 2,4 D of the Hi Yield product for spot spraying, which is 5 1/3 fl oz of 2,4 D + 8.6 fl oz of Atrazine + 2 teaspoons of surfactant in 1 gallon of water.

I think I'll need to apply to the whole lawn. Only about 1,500 sq ft. in the front.
We just bought the house so I went with a 15-0-15 Weed and Feed since I missed the February pre emergent window.
Do you see any problem with using both weed and feed AND cocktail?

What Weed&Feed product did you use, and when did you apply it? What was the the active ingredient herbicide in the fertilizer? By chance was it this product? Most Weed & Feed products are going to have either Atrazine or Trimec (containing 2, 4 D) post-emergent herbicide.
If you applied a Weed & Feed containing Trimec fairly recentlyI think I’d be inclined give it some time to work, but I’d consider applying Atrazine only now. Conversely, if the Weed & Feed product you used contained Atrazine, I’d only use the Hi Yield 2,4 D product you have now. Again this depends on when you applied the Weed & Feed. Remember, turf grass is resistant to the herbicides, not immune. If you apply too much, particularly during spring green up, you can potentially damage the centipede.

Second pic is Virginia Buttonweed. Southpaw is rated for centipede and works for most broadleaf weeds plus kylinga and sedges.

Thanks Craw. I bought, but have not applied, the Weed and Feed pictured (with Trimec).
So Atrazine only now for post emergent broadleaf (and some pre emergent)?
Then 15-0-15 in 2-3 weeks?

Wait wait wait…you bailed on the house with the nice Bermuda lawn?

Bruh, we had to move!
Ran out of space with two young kids.
But the guy who bought said the lawn made it an automatic contender
Appreciate you saying it was nice, but I needed a new challenge any way!

I’ll give this Centipede a year or two and get rid of it later if needed.
The back yard is mostly covered by an unruly live oak so I look forward to thinning it and getting zoysia sod. Eventually…

Well since you haven’t applied the W&F yet, you can apply 2,4 D + Atrazine combo now, then apply the W&F in 3 weeks, say tax day, mid-April.

Ha I know the feeling with the kids. You’ll be greatly missed in the Bermuda threads. Best of luck with the centipede journey. I’m killing that shite off as fast as I can in my front yard but I do love it when it’s weed free and not damaged by drought or cold or any other number of things.

If I would have just had a patch of common I could have grown it, but I seem to be the only one in the whole neighborhood without what appears to be some kind of old hybrid bermuda.

old hybrid bermuda.
It's really thick in places and also a very fine leaf.
I've even seen it thick under pine trees.

419 would have been one of the few hybrids available commercially in the early 70s. I’d have no idea if that’s what they have now though.
Since then, they have developed more hybrids that are better for different needs. I think of 419 as the grandpa of hybrid bermudagrass and it’s stood the test of time.

Lets all take a journey down bermuda memory lane. Tif 419 was created over 60 years ago and has dominated the industry. The first hybrid was coastal bermuda followed by Tif 44, then 85 and then 127. They were created in Tifton, Ga. They were originally created for cows and not lawns. Tif 127 was the first one created for sports fields.
