This is getting ridiculous now. This should not have the word "Young" in the title anymore. Why can't they leave movies from the 80s/90s alone?

Considering that Emilio Estévez will reprise Billy "The Kid" and it takes place 35 yrs later ( the whole franchise is built around Billy "The Kid" and his gang") is different than just introducing"new generation of regulators".

I read the article. Did you read how Slater and LDP will also reprise their roles from 35 years ago? Are those characters going to be young or old?

one of the things I hate with these types of reboots is the insistence on "introducing a new generation of..."

Just give me Emilio, Lou Diamond Phillips, Keiffer, etc and frick off with the new people

At the end of Young Guns 2, Arkansas Dave fled to Mexico while it was implied that Chavez was going to die somewhere else.

In real life Arkansas Dave would die in 1886 ( 7 yrs after the beginning of Young Guns 2) at the age of 31. The real Chavez would die in 1924 around the age of 72 or 73.

Billy The Kids would die in 1881 at the age of 21.

Modern Hollywood Business Model 101.

We can't green light an original property to save our lives, so let's instead take an original idea and slap the name of an existing IP on it so we can get our film made. We'll rework the script to loosely fit it into the same universe as the original IP, maybe bring back one or two of the original actors in supporting roles, and that'll be that.

Noone goes to theaters anymore.

Noone buys vhs/dvds/blu rays anymore.

Original properties dont make sense financially. There have been quite a few released this year and captain america: brave new world sold 10x more tickets

This

At this point, just make them cyborgs frozen in ice and unleashed in Modern America as a platoon of Universal Soldiers and I’d be ok with it.

Just not a new gay cast of trannies.

Kind of weird how Estevez rejected Tom Cruise's idea to bring him back to the Mission Impossible series b/c he thought it would be silly to bring back a dead character but now he's doing Young Guns 3.

All characters of significance died.

This is going to be the most retconned, weirdest sequel/reboot ever.

Young Guns 2 kinda really went the "creative liberty" on the lives of the real people. Doc Scurlock would live until 1929 and die at age 80. Kiefer would only commit to coming back if his character died at the shootout where he was killed by Viggo's character.

Chavez lived to be 72 or 73 and died in 1924. Arkansas Dave died in 1886. The movie begins in 1879 and ends I guess in 1881, so 5 years I guess could be short but they messed up a lot of real events to create this movie.
