Never heard this before Trump and don’t understand how Trump was supposed to win without the most votes. Can anyone sane explain why this is used as an insult for winning an election?

Are you from Louisiana? Huey P Long was a populist that is always described using that term.

With most talking points, the Dems get the same script.

The TDSrs out there keep trying to tie Trump to Hitler. Populism is just another approach to do so.

Its directionless and usually gets steered over to the left/authoritarian side of the aisle.

I found the last 4 years the most directionless since the 1960s.

You've never heard of the term populism used in conjunction with a political movement? TBH I've really only heard it in terms of political movements.

The same people screaming about muh democracy are the same ones denouncing populism.
It's so weird.
It's so weird.
