Before the bowls cowherd was talking how great the big 12 was and when a caller suggested that its just the big 12 did have good defense. He laughed and went on and on how the big 12 d was great and its just the o was so good in the big 12. He was way off and has never said anything else after the bowls.

As to conference dominance, ain't gonna happen playing in the SEC because (and I think this is a real plus) the SEC is loaded with great teams and great recruiting classes. The PAC ONE is all about USC and then everyone else. USC just won it's 7th straight PAC 10 conference title, but I think that says a lot more about the weakness of its conference than it does about the greatness of USC (though they do have one of the top programs in a country without a doubt).
