Today’s players are emasculated, nut-less fairys.

Is anything better these days?

I'm sure a black on white fight in the NBA would be handled completely normally around here.

The nba has been great a million times, but when was the last?

80’s and 90’s were peak nba.

The basketball wasn't nearly as technically proficient but I do miss back when NBA players were legitimately tough and there was a ton of bad blood out there.
I think players being way too chummy with each other is annoying in all professional sports, not just the NBA. Free agency has these guys changing teams so much there's less "us vs them" mentality. Today's opponent is tomorrow's teammate and vice versa.

This!
Players these days with any elite talent have been trained from such a young age. They all are so much more offensively talented than players in the 80s and 90s, but they don’t have the competitiveness or toughness. The players back in the day genuinely didn’t like each other. The playoffs were so intense, no easy buckets, or plays off. Even though the offensive talent across the board today is far superior, they’re just not as fun to watch.

They seem so much more talented because there is no defense, zone defense is allowed, and traveling is not called. Not even counting the run and shoot a 3 every play.
In this game, there was bad blood. Mahorn had been the enforcer for the Pistons. Barkley and Pistons did not like each other. Then Mahorn was traded to Pistons. So the bad blood was doubled.

Lol 90’s NBA was atrocious….I don’t miss seeing the Nets and Spurs battle their way to a 79-77 finish.

I always thought 80's basketball was better. The Pistons, Sixers (first half of 80's), Lakers, and Celtics were more loaded than any team in the 90's. Don't forget the Twin Towers in Houston. Portland, Utah, Phoenix, Seattle would have been beaten every time in a series by those teams. The Bulls? Three of those teams would have beaten the Bulls.

Does anyone seriously think LeOwww would have been a star in that era?
Huh. Ain't no way.

It was only the 5th regular-season game of the year.
Today's players would either be hugging and talking their nightlife or sitting out or playing limited minutes to "play into shape".
Celtics won.

The officiating now is comical I agree, But the offensive talent is far superior now. Drop Kyrie or Steph’s combination of handling and shooting ability in the 90s and they’d think it was sorcery. Watch game footage, not just highlights from that era and they weren’t even picking up offensive players till they were at the 3 point line. Earlier in MJ’s career he literally could not go left. A Durant’s offensive bag would be unreal in that era. Players these days are groomed from the time they can walk, sent to prep schools, special training where as 90s players played in the yard and streets and high school which created that toughness, but not the crazy offensive bags players have now.

Offensively superior you have to be joking! There isn't any defense, no center to put you on your arse when you drive to the goal. They run up and down the court with everyone on defense just standing around. This crap today is absolutely unwatchable!!!

Chicken thanks y’all for constantly posting about a sport you don’t watch

Just the fact you refer to it as "offensive bags" makes me detest the NBA even more.

It was more entertaining to watch in the 1980s. It also has a lot to do with the dilution of overall league talent and brand. Even a casual fan could name the starting 5 for 3 or 4 of the top teams. Ask a casual fan who the starting 5 is for the Cavs or OKC and i'd bet you'd get a different result.
