Always enjoyed building or rather repurposing old spinner baits. Usually took old ones and converted to inline buzz baits or what-not.

I build my own buzz baits. Store bought buzz baits are straight up junk. They are either cheap and crap, or expensive and overpriced crap. I got sick of it a couple years ago and started building my own. I order everything from Barlows tackle. I put a small red bead in front and behind my blade to keep it from binding. I order 5” umbrella skirts from them too. My blades have bubbler holes… they take probably 2-3 minutes to make and are deadly. If I had to guess, I’d say I caught over 500 bass on them last year, being conservative. I caught 50-60 bass on some days, all on a buzzbait.
I remember looking in the mirror and having a bruise on my side from where the butt of my rod hit when I set the hook

I’d buy a couple if you’re selling, email is my username at gmail. I agree what’s out there for buzzbaits is embarrassing and I only ever want to throw top water in the morning anymore.

Not as a hobby or anything but started making my own punch skirts, then buzz baits, then vibrating jigs. I like adding some custom colors to skirts.

I used to make in line buzz baits from the wire in my old notebooks. Basically a jig, beads, buzz bait spinner, and needle nose pliers. The jigs were weedless too.

would love to see some pics if you don't mind. Need to place an order from Barlows for some jig hair and can add some materials to try some of those.

I used to pour plastics, still have the injectors and tons of molds. I still make my spinnerbaits, swimjigs and jigs. Have custom molds for spinnerbaits, jigs etc.

Here’s a couple I made. I also make them with black and chartreuse heads.

Yes I've made wooden topwaters on a lathe or hand carved and hit them with an airbrush. Also bought plastic blanks and painted them. I have some jig head molds and do some custom jig heads depending on what I need. I usually powder coat them. I haven't done any spinner baits, but plan on soon.

What’s that 1/4 and 1/2 oz? I’m partial to 1/4s with a speed craw rather than a skirt. I throw them alot and don’t miss many with that combo

They’re all 1/4 oz. I’m going to have to try that one day!

I only catch bass on either red flake or red shad power worms. Oh, and a few Senkos.

My bad , the bottom looks bigger for some reason. I like the 1/4 because I can pitch it far enough and accurately all day with out wearing me out. Skips pretty decent with the plastic body on it too

Which size blade you use on the 1/4, I’m guessing the C blade they sell. If you don’t mind me asking.

Some of the most fun you can have sober is chunking this around on a prefrontal day with a little cloud cover and a light wind. With the plastic on it they don’t short strike and it can stay up even going really slow.

Not necessarily for bass but have caught bass, started out as a hobby then started selling my own weedless spinnerbaits.
