KW Pregame Speeches

If this doesn’t get you going…he will be awesome with the young kids.

I was concerned about this hire because we have been at a talent and coaching deficit on the D-Line until last years coaching hires….this will be a special hire from Day 1

Not really. He has been a beast since he was born.

But the most important thing for someone like you though is that he is "one of us" right?

If KW could do nothing more than teach our players out to turn on their motor....he would be better than anything else we have had in a long time. I am very pro hiring KW.

This thread has brought out the brightest minds TD has to offer I see.

Our defense needs help, I hope he makes a difference.

He is a great Tiger....hope he coaches as good as he played.

I like KW and I’m hopeful it’s a great hire. I think it might be worth the risk especially since you have a guy like Peoples. Could it be an underlying issue? Can’t afford to fire our very very very bad basketball coach or hire a top tier Dline coach. Downvote away!

Idk why anyone feels the need to have an opinion on this. He hasnt coached this level before so none of us can possibly know if this is a good or bad hire. Best thing you can do is trust the guy who interviewed him

Yeah I'm not really sure how anyone could have a song opinion on this hire in either direction. We all criticized the Robert Steeples hire. Just wait and see and hope for the best.

Meh not a fan of hiring a coach with zero coaching experience at a high level when this is your make or break year.

I think we all agree what kind of a Pro and a Tiger that Kyle was. I think it just the unknown of him coach at this level. Great players don't always translate to great coaches.

Exactly. Our fans would hire Shaq, Furniss, & Flynn as our major sports coaches if it was up to them. You hardly ever see a great coach that was also a great player in sports. It’s always the guys who weren’t that good that teach the game better

I remember seeing a similar video near the end of his NFL career and said to myself, I bet he would make a good DL coach

We have lost so many North Louisiana recruits to Bama, Texas, aTm, Ole Miss, etc. He ought to put a stop to that.

Agree. I worked with Kyle’s father and know Kyle. He’s a leader of men. He’s a man amongst men. Was the guy everyone turned to as the leader of the Buffalo defense. If I didn’t know him I’d be a little skeptical, but I believe this man can coach. That Ruston High defense was outstanding under him. Kyle didn’t have to coach high school ball. He did it to help out and wasn’t paid until they made him take a salary. There has been countless opportunities to coach elsewhere and he stayed around Ruston to be with his family and helped RHS become relevant again. It’s time for him to take the next step. Saban loved him. Miles loved him. Buffalo considered him when he was a veteran as a coach on the field. Williams had been going back to Buffalo a whole lot since last December and was about to be an analyst until a spot could be made for him permanently. We got a guy that will be a great coach and someone that can relate to these young men.
