I liked it. I had heard mostly mid to poor reviews. But i like the plot three characters and the overall story. I liked the idea of a world isolated from the galaxy.

Worth a watch on +.

Watched it with my kids and we really enjoyed it... Damn shame that'll be the only season we get.. That show had some potential for a fun series..

Blame the lesbian space witches show..

Exactly. The parents and the two lead kids were annoying. However, cyclops girl and elephant boy and Jude Law were great. Jaleel White was in this; didn't recognize him. This show is what smart execs at Disney would be putting out on a regular basis.

Watched it recently as well

It was the opposite of Andor, light hearted coming of age fun story

Enjoyed it and thought Laws character was interesting

I'd like to hear where the viewership numbers are now. It debuted poorly but I've heard from more and more people having watched the show since the finale. The word of mouth for it doesn't seem to be bad.

Is it self contained in a season or was it supposed to be bigger?

Was created to be only 1 season.

I guess they could've expanded the story if they wanted a season 2, but the viewer numbers werent great.

Allegedly some Skeleton Crew characters will appear in Mando and Grogu.

We ended up watching at debut and got hooked.. But yeah initial viewership was week but hopefully it'll gain more traction and we'll get more.. But who knows.. Kathleen Kennedy leaving definitely gives me a bit of hope as well..

This means Skeleton Crew is with little doubt the least watched Star Wars live action show on Disney+ ever. With probably even less viewers than for Ms Marvel.

Anyone who still clings to the hope that this may somehow, maybe get an order for a second season will be sorely disappointed. It’s moot to discuss the reasons for this failure. It’s probably a combination of factors: kids as main characters which may not be something most adult Star Wars fans want, Star Wars Goonies meets Treasure Island may be too far removed from Star Wars as fans know and like it, and maybe The Acolyte has left nothing but scorched earth.

The only people to blame here are the ones making all the decisions at Lucasfilm and Disney. Absolutely not to blame however are the showruners Christopher Ford and Jon Watts and all the actors starring in Skeleton Crew, they delivered. The only question Watts and Ford may have to answer is if their pitch really was a good fit for Star Wars, however that is Kathleen Kennedy’s job to decide, not theirs, they did a really good job. So if you like Pirates of the Star Wars Galaxy as a concept the show was a fun ride with the best writing for any Disney+ Star Wars show outside of Andor and early Mandalorian seasons.

Why there is still no report of Kathleen Kennedy leaving Lucasfilm after her third colossal failure in a row (Indy 5, The Acolyte, now Skeleton Crew) and cratering merchandise and video game sales keeps on boggling the mind. Next victim of her touch of death could as well be The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, the leaks for that movie sound horrible. But by then it may be far too late to replace her. It’s difficult to see how Star Wars could make a comeback any time soon when there’s nothing but craters, smoking ruins and scorched earth.

Let’s hope for the best.

Being about kids is a stupid excuse .. Hell Stranger Things was essentially about kids and we see how that turned out.. Plus being 45 myself with pre-teen and teenage children they grew up watching Star Wars with me and this was great show for us all to sit and enjoy.. They both loved this show.. And I know I'm not the only SW loving parent out there just looking for something fun and free of BS.

That said, the blame certainly can't be solely on The Acolyte b/c there was some real hot garbage the preceded it.. But The Acolyte was definitely the nail in the coffin for unknown properties for SW.

Now I do think Andor S2 will do well.. b/c S1 imho best thing that D+ has done thus far..

Star Wars "fans" shitting on everything star wars didnt help either.

This show got less views than the acolyte.

There has been plenty of good star wars released in the past few years, but the fandom would rather hear the negativity.

At least all of the communities arent the same when it comes to this.

True.. most "fans" have unrealistic expectations.. But Disney did the property no favors with some of the crap they produced..

Which is sad honestly.. Plus I think a lot of the Acolytes views came from hate watching...

Agreed, Mando, Ashoka , Kenobi , Andor were all good.. were they flawless absolutely not.. But it was decent SW content and I watched all of it..

Yes. It was pretty good. It's sad that it didn't get the viewership that it deserved. That is what happens though when you demonize and write off the critiques of the majority of the fan base. Hopefully with Kathleen Kennedy leaving Lucas Films someone who actually respects Star Wars Cannon can make content worthy of the Star Wars moniker.

Just finished this with my kids. What a fun, great family show. Kinda wild that their least successful show actually one of their best. Similar to Solo another fun property gets wrecked by its predecessor.

yeah, couldn't get a 100 page thread like The Acolyte or Snow White because it didn't have anything woke for the idiots to cry about.

Jude Law was great
