I'm very high on our freshman pitchers, Cooper Williams might not have been quite ready tonight. Crazy to think that we could have 2 freshmen Evans and Rizy closing out games for us along with Guidry when he is healthy. Evans fastball looks like it'll play for sure, and if he can continue to develop the slider and changeup, look out. That was a damn good team we just beat

Nerves got the best of Williams. He will be better for it next time. He has potential that is for sure.

The next 10 years should be a fun ride with Johnson leading us.
I’m hoping 3 more Championships

This is the best pitching staff, as a whole, that Jay has had since he has been here. I.m not sure this isn't the best team he has had as a whole, if I'm being honest. Great at-bats, solid fielding, and great pitching. But it is early and we are still leaving a lot of people on base though part of that is we seem to generally get so many people on.

The one thing this team has that other teams didn’t have is speed. Jay finally has a team that can put pressure on teams in every category.

For sure. Kid is 18 years old playing in an MLB park in his home state, after a grand total of 3 innings pitched in college. He'll definitely grow from this

Williams will be fine. It’s so nice that the tigers won’t ever have to ride a cold arm for the sake of eating innings or getting out of a game. That’s a luxury very few programs have

I hope you are correct. I would love to see him at the helm for the foreseeable future, long term.

Evans, Schmidt and Rizy alone has got to be one of the best freshman pitcher classes that LSU has ever had.

What is awesome is this staff is so deep that CJJ doesn’t have to leave a guy in to try and figure it out and risk letting the other team get back in the game. As soon as he saw Williams didn’t have it he went and got the dog out the pen and eliminated any hope that DBU had.

This staff is going to take us a long way. Built for Hoover and Omaha!

Insert Ware here as well. He yanked Ware after his first hit allowed but I also like that that option is available whenever to find another stud and bring him in
