Saw something about great men of history and that got me wondering who would qualify from modern times.

My first thought was
Trump- pretty obvious, his business career and celebrity and then his legacy as president and dominating this era culturally

Elon- resume is also obvious with his business career and now DOGE

Steve Joba/Bezos creating such big companies that capture the culture

Modi- leading India into the modern age

President Xi- China is now a serious competitor to us because of his leadership

Michael Jordan/Tiger Woods- their sports career transcended their sport and were worldwide cultural forces

Any others?

NGL, kind of a gay topic.

But Goldwater, Reagan, Lee Atwater, Trump, Thiel.

Non Americans, I would throw in Bukele, Milei and although a female Le Pen

Musk is close, but I cannot get past his family life. Anyone who celebrates having as many kids as possible with women you are not married to is no folk hero.

Most great men have a checkered personal life

I think a case can be made for Rogan and to a lesser extent Jordan Peterson

They were two of the first to stand up and say “the emperor has no clothes”

Its not a checkered personal life. He actively champions everyone to have as many babies as they can.

His work in business is Ford-esque, and he has done much for the GOP. I still hope my kids never grow up to be like him.

Trump..... Musk....... The two most important.
No others are even close. We won't know the answer until we are dead and gone, but....
that's my opinion.

It’s impossible to overlook the wealth that Musk and Trump were both born into, as well. Neither men are self-made. They both bought their way into power. Musk literally bought his seat in the White House. Ironically, they are the epitome of Didn’t Earn It.
