If you go onto the “Wall of Receipts”, you can see the items being used to tally up the $55 billion in savings (thus far).

Wall of Receipts

When you dig into some of them, though, the values seem to come from what looks like a “not to exceed” contract value. It is unclear how many (if any) ever come close to these amounts, and a couple that I have looked up seem to show actual awards that are a small fraction of that.

I tried linking to one of the FPDS links, but there seems to be a JavaScript thing that won’t let a straight URL work here. Look, though, at the awards for 9,999,999.

I think claiming 10,000,000 in savings here will be called bullshite, and it’s hard to argue it.

I’m all for rooting out this crap, and I do believe it’s in the billions. This seems to leave an opening for opponents to claim that all of this is a wild exaggeration.

Credibility matters with winning these battles, and this seems to be an opening for casting doubt for the useful idiots that will lap it up.

Well, you can take comfort in “owning the libs”, or you can concentrate on winning the persuadable middle that won the election for Trump.

How many federal contracts eventually exceed the “not to exceed” contract value?

I would venture to say its a lot more than 0%

It will all settle out. 3 years and 11 months still to go. If Dims and the msm want to bitch about exact numbers right now being the big problem I welcome it very much.

NONE of this money is truly saved until it's returned to taxpayers and not spent on other things.

It doesn't. There arent many posters on here who really care if he cleans up the government or not. They mostly just care about sticking it to the libs.

You think the middle who voted for MAGA DOGE are suddenly going to vote for Kamala next election?

The end of history occurred on Nov 5 2024 and MAGA will reign for 1000 years no matter what occurs over the next four. at least that seems to be the POV of the majority of this board,.

Said by many posters in several threads the last few days...

Plus Elon already said he's not been accurate in his statements and that it's not a big deal.

Yeah OP

I’m so sure your ahead of Elon Musk in your analysis, I’m sure he will set himself up to look like a jackass for the world to see.

I’m you can do some Gold Medal Quality mental gymnastics around Elon.

And I love that you at least agree that the fraud, waste, money laundering and straight theft “is likely in the Billions”, that must take some serious brain power to arrive at that analysis

How about $TRILLIONS being revealed!

This is one of the dumbest posts I’ve seen in a while.

As for me, I’ll trust Elons Band of ALPHA NERDS to complete the Forensic Audit until further notice.

The guy parks rocket ships, has an underground and revolutionary Boring Company. He has created neuron chips that can be installed in someone’s brain, and so on and so on.

I think he can handle a financial audit of the Government as fricked up as they have set it up to try and hide as much as they can while the bankrupt the country.

DOGE is going to go down as one of the single biggest and significant organizations in the world to take down the corruption, and it’s not even close!

Well, we paid $10,000 for a hammer because it was needed and we’re coming up against the end of a budgeting period and needed to spend the money or it would be gone the next budgeting period.

So, you tell me if you think (if any) ever come close to those amounts.

I think that many of the people that we want to vote for Vance in 2028 can come to choose otherwise because these efforts will be cast as fake news.

Trump won because MANY people changed their mind from 2020. You think they can’t or won’t change them back if stuff like this turns out to look like a farce?

It never ceases to amaze me how people are unable to consider how others will think. They will just dismiss it as “They are stupid.”

Guess what? A stupid person’s vote counts exactly the same as yours.
