I have started the process of looking to buy a used bay boat. I would like one with a T-top but don't want to limit my options. If I find one without one, who do you guys recommend. I could use any shop from Baton Rouge to Mobile. Thank you in advance.

There is always the option to buy a universal T-Top from a company like Stryker T-Tops, Dolphin T-Tops, and maybe Fishmaster?

They have many different styles that can be adjusted to fit just about any style center console bay boat. FYI, I don't think they are anywhere near as well built or sturdy as a custom fabricated T-top, but they get the job done for sure.

I ended up finding one used on FB marketplace and installed on my personal bay boat yesterday actually. I think it looks great, but time will tell how well it holds up over time.

FYI, the T-tops mentioned above are about 1/2 the price of having a custom top made. If you can find one used on FB marketplace, its more like 1/4 the price of a custom top if you can make it work for your boat...

Updating this post as I realized I didn’t include a photo in the original.

I saw one for 600$ the other day still in the box.

I went with a used t top in decent shape. The downside to this is fitment. You will have to go custom to get the feet in the absolute right spot. Mine is close but not perfect.

The one thing I am slightly concerned about is fastening to the deck. I plan to use 4 zip toggle anchors through my deck, ss screws and 4200 adhesive. Hopefully that's enough.

I used Sterlings in New Iberia. I attached pics of their work. I just sold the boat after 11 years and never had a problem.

I have one of the dolphin foldable t-tops. Pretty sturdy and does the trick. Does take up some foot space.

I installed one of these:

On a 22’ Pathfinder. Fits outside the console so it does take up a bit of walking space but it is bullet proof. Easy to self install. Folds down and is easily done by one person. Can put rig under house out of the weather. Like it a lot.

I love my t top. I would get one put on if I didn't have one.

But that damn thing is like a parasail. It catches a lot more wind when I'm out in 15-20 mph winds.

For a custom T Top you can probably expect to spend 4-6k. Depends on options. You can call Sterlings and he can tell you more about pricing.
