I am not sure why just always been intrigued by it. I see it borders Russia which idk being an American and going to a neighboring small country if that’s be an issue. Also borders a Stan and a little south is Iran but Georgia is 85% Christian. Looking at skiing and exploring in the future but no date set

I would love to go one day, but the wife (no pics) won't have none of that!

Some of the oldest wineries in the world. Beautiful scenery. Welcoming people. It'd have it all to me.

Good video on the country!

Good article!

Yes. Summer of 2016.

They let you stay for up to 365 days. Relatively cheap, nice cuisine, and very good local wine. Very mountainous country and many ancient monasteries. Low crime.

English slightly hard to come by outside tour guides/hotel management. Hatred runs high for Russia. Don’t advise bringing up that subject with them even if you’re joking.

I’ve been to Georgia, and it’s honestly an underrated gem. The mix of mountains, old architecture, and the hospitality makes it a cool spot. The ski resorts are pretty solid if you’re into that, and the food is amazing. Idk now with their new russian-inclined president how the matters are.

It really is a cool place. Shocked how good the wine was and how cheap.

The politics there is not in a good place, Georgians DO NOT want to be Russian.

I have only been to Tblisi, but really enjoyed the city....such an old city that people do not know about...

People were very nice, and the food was great....and I am not a wine drinker, but my colleagues said they were all great...

Update: 10000 Russians with EDM blaring. My family is in a bit of a culture shock. Good food and beer though!

How does the skiing fair to other countries? It doesn’t have to be superb in just curious.

Thanks for all the comments, pictures and recommendations by everyone. I told my fiancée of the wine and she now wants to go haha

The skiing was great. $25 a person for lift pass a day. Our equipment was another $30 or so. Very cheep. It’s all alpine with no trees just the runs. Lots of restaurants and bars around New Gudauri. And only 2-1/2 hours from TBS Airport.
