Patrick Mahomes will be turning 30 next season. In his last 2 seasons, his counting stats have dropped off precipitously to rank around 13th in the league. The eye test also shows that Patrick Mahomes mobility and movement skills have already started to decline. As we saw in the Super Bowl, this is not a stand in the pocket and dissect a defense QB. He needs his mobility to not only do damage, but to simply survive in this league.

Trade Idea number 1- Call up the notoriously stupid and desperate, Cleveland Browns and pursue a package of 3 1st rd picks, Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward.

I’ll hang up and listen.

There's no value on paper worth Patrick Mahomes for the next 6 more years.

A situation like his would have to come from Patrick Mahomes himself and pleading the owner directly to send me to XXX because of YYY.

Yes.

He's only 29. He might have a decade of quality football left.

This is a tremendously bad idea but the area I would like to focus on is what they do at QB after he would be gone.... How do they find another all pro level qb to replace him? The draft is a gamble and big time Qbs in their prime or near prime are never free agents

Not to mention all of these new qb contracts bigger than Mahomes are going to guys that have never won anything meaningful

We saw his o-line get absolutely decimated. Tom fricking Brady would have gotten his arse whipped trying to play w/his line collapsing around him like that all night.

mahomes is definitely on the decline. defenses are being constructed to entirely stop him and thus the noticeable drop off with his stats the last 2 seasons. they did well to squeak by teams so many times this season but its only going to become more difficult for KC and mahomes from now on. their success the last few years will not be duplicated nor improved upon.

A trade will help a so called bad team in dire need of a QB. But, does he have a no trade cause??? And that salary hit is huge. Kelce looks ready to retire anyway.

In Drew Brees' age 40 season, he was 13-2 as a starter, led the NFL in passer rating, and had 32 TD's with only 5 INTs.

Peyton Manning won MVP and set the NFL single season records for passing yards and TD's in his age 37 season...after he'd already had neck surgery.

Why would you think that Mahomes won't still be productive at 35?

Didn't help that the Chiefs lost their leading receiver to a season ending injury in week 4. Getting Rice back next year and Worthy going into his 2nd season should improve the weapons that Mahomes has to throw to.

Mahomes isn’t comparable to Brees, Manning and Rodgers from an accuracy or defense reading standpoint
