What’s your opinion on if a players ball lands in a divot IN the fairway, should they get a drop? I’ve always said if your in the fairway, you should get relief

The problem is when the divot is healing. At what point does it cease to be a divot? I think you should, but your playing partners should have to deem it a divot.

If I'm playing with a plus bogey golf buddy, I'll tell him to get himself a good lie. I'm not trying to watch them hack the ball around all day. Gotta keep up that pace of play

Would be an absolute cluster frick trying to enforce that rule. No way it happens.

If you slice one into the woods and it bounces out, should you have to throw it back in?

At the US Open?
Club championship?

Play it down.

4 10 handicaps playing after work.
Bump it.

The part where your comment makes any sense.

My comment makes as much sense as the retarded notion that you get a drop if your ball lands in a fairway divot.

At least one is debatable. Opinions vary, I guess.

I kick the ball out, because I don't give a frick, and it's a stupid rule.

I mean.. I'm not playing for money or in a tournament.. I'll move it. It should be treated as ground under repair..

Amen. Pros can handle it, we’re just trying to have a relaxing day on the course.

That’s why it’s important to discuss local rules on first tee, before anyone hits. Either play down, or bump in the fairway. Just as long as everyone plays it the same way I’d think is fair.

What?

Why should you benefit from good luck but get relief from bad luck?

I’m all for generous rules for AM’s. Helps speed up the pace of play as well. Game is hard enough. Half the time, I’m watching a Good Good video, they are playing OB as lateral hazards, and that’s with videos with legit great golfers in it, such as Kwon or Brad.

So, they are playing by the actual rules of golf.
