And it still hurts. Celebrity deaths never bother me but his did. Such great music and a man who talked the talk and walked the walk when it came to supporting our military.

25 #1's and his first 4 albums were at least gold status. Not a bad hit in his entire catalog.

He was a legend and a good man.

frick cancer.

He is absolutely on my Mount Rushmore of 90’s-00’s country artists.
A ton of fantastic songs and albums, a great entertainer and a good human being. We lost him way too soon.
Some of his songs that never made it to radio are absolute gems.
If you ever want a nostalgia deep dive do a TK play list, but be sure to listen to the tracks that weren’t released as singles too. Fantastic.

I have How Do You Like Me Now and his 90's Greatest Hits on CD, but I need to get his stuff on vinyl.

Agreed.

Toby
Reba
King George
Alan Jackson
McGraw/Clint Black/Brad Paisley/Vince Gill/Carrie Underwood (tie)

Carrie Underwood deserves a spot here. Yeah she started in '05 but her accomplishments speak for themselves. Aside from Swift, she's the highest selling female artist of this century and the reigning Queen of Country and is already on her way to being an all-timer. (28 #'1's)

Also, all but 3 names on my list are Okies.

How the frick did I leave AJ off of that list? My bad.

Feels like it's been three or four years, crazy it's only been 1.

I'm not a country fan in general, but I always liked his stuff.

Toby would be writing a number 1 hit song right now over what Trump and the baws are doing to shut it down.

On this day a year ago I sang this song in my kitchen with my 2 year old and since then it’s been her favorite song. Should’ve been a cowboy and also Wanna talk about me”. For a solid 8 months we listened to it multiple times daily. Now she’s moved onto frozen songs, but I’m still jamming Toby

OU alum and live in a town on Norman outskirts. Norman zip but in the country. Several coaches of other sports out here.

TK was such a fixture not just In Norman but the state. Did things people will never know about.

Yes, my kids went to schools with his kids and grandkids. Knew people he said get on the jet. It's time to party.

There was no Hollywood. Pure OKIE.
