I remember back in the '70s, waterbeds were the thing to sleep on. I purchased one and used it for about five years. It was OK, but I never really got used to it. My parents came to visit for a weekend, and they slept on the waterbed one night. The next morning, I asked my mother how she liked the waterbed. She said, "If I wanted to go sailing, I would buy myself a boat." I did a Google search and was surprised to learn waterbeds are still available.

Has anyone here purchased and used a waterbed? How did you like it?

I had one from about the late 80s until maybe 1995 or so. I wouldn't want one again

I had one in the ‘80s as well…man I can’t see how those things ever got as popular as they did.

When I was 19, I dated an older divorcee with a waterbed. It was hard to screw on unless she was on top.

Had one throughout the 80's.
My Burmese Python would come out of her cage and hang out between the mattress and the frame to take advantage of the heater.

People did a lot of stupid shite in the 70's and 80's and that helped make us what we are today- glorious and wise.

Had a woman I knew from high school who had a waterbed. Boyfriend murdered her and put her body in the waterbed. Took a couple of weeks before they found her.

Had the semi waveless kind with the foam base and top and interior tubes or whatever for several years back in the day. Very comfy.
