Folks are asking me "how do music award shows work?" Labels/publishers all have blocks of votes. They make deals with each other "you vote for mine, we'll vote for yours" type thing. It has ZERO to do with who made the best music, thus, Beyonce with "Country album of the year." Nice, right? The same thing is true with the CMA's, ACM's, Billboard, etc...all work exactly the same. Last night, the Grammy's outed themselves in a big way.

Why do they even have music awards shows when no good music has been released for like 20 years

I’ve not given a damn about awards shows of any kind for nearly 30 years. I’m baffled by how many folks are letting Beyoncé’s win ruin their day. I wish I could get so caught up in something so trivial.

I don’t ever watch the Grammys. Don’t like the politics and all the other stuff that goes with it. Love some of the music historically but I just don’t watch it.

I will say I watched the videos of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars singing California Dreamin’. That’s an extremely powerful performance. Actually, historically like a lot of her music. Not sure what the hell is going on with her plastic surgery new look but either way that was a powerful song.

The Beatles and The Rolling Stones both won Grammys last night, in 2025. That far more fricking sad than a black woman winning a Country award, to me.

Not sure what race has to do with it. You think people would be acting differently if Madonna won the country Grammy?

In this video Rick explains and has proof of why the Grammys are not what they once were. Worth the 10 minute watch.

Yes, I do. Don’t be naive, here. A good bit of the uproar over this is about race.

Perhaps a very small percentage.

Most people care about the bastardization of the music.

Most people would be just as mad if Madonna or Katy Perry won the award.

That ship sailed a long time ago. They need to rename it the "Music Hall of Fame"

There are rappers, hip hop artists, etc., in it.
