I think I get it. So you are saying that the prices will initially go up but that those higher prices will bring more legals to the trade thus causing a supply/demand equilibrium with a lower price than at the spike. Right? BTW, this is what I think, too.

One more question: Will that equilibrium be at a price that is higher or lower than the status quo ante? That means the price before we reduced the supply of workers. The supply and demand curves would suggest that price would be higher.

If you still think it would not be higher, which is what you have been arguing, then why is Trump doing this? How will it help the American worker to see the price of his labor go up only to see it sink back to where it was before?

The answers are obvious; the price of labor will spike, and then go back down to a level that is higher than it was before we ran off the illegals. The American workers will have a better lifestyle, and it will come mostly at the expense of the American affluents, but somewhat at the expense of many other countries.

You know illegals who work in this country are exploited right? They have no rights and they can't complain to anyone.

One of the dirty little secrets about life as an illegal is that your preyed upon by other illegal crooks. Can't go to the police and crime is high in the illegal community. This is one of the reasons you see them moving in groups sometimes. Illegals have a higher chance of getting rolled as they carry cash and no protection other than themselves.
All this illegal crap is mutually agreed upon slavery. Why we allow businesses to exploit people this way is inexcusable.
Only way to stop this nonsense is to go after the employers, the only way.

Edit, Worker and Employer need to be going through the legal system. Maybe we need to improve the system, and improve prosecution on both sides of those not using the system.
