The only other 2 that come close are Curley and Smoke.
And i think he’s worse than both.

Smoke took LSU to the CWS twice in his 5 years so I’m sure there have been worse coaches

Did Smoke bring LSU to the playoffs? Smoke shouldn’t even be in the sentence.

Just Stop with comparing Smoke with the worst coaches at LSU shite!!
It’s downright ridiculous, ignorant, and plain stupid.
Smoke won the SEC. Smoke made 3 Super Regionals in 5 seasons. Smoke went to two CWS in 5 years. Smoke won over 65% of his games. This is not worst coach in LSU history conversation worthy.

They didn't answer the question directly because it was a dumb question full of hyperbole.

I dont know. Id have to go back to the 1890s and study them all. I dont know why everything today has to always be the best or worst of all time

Curley was much worse, imo.
I'm not sure that Press Maravich would not have been a worse coach if he had not had his son on the team for three of the years he coached at LSU.
In terms of overall games, both Jay McCreary(1957–1965) and Press(1966–1972) are statistically worse than McMahon right now, though both are better in SEC play. Of course, the SEC was not a powerhouse basketball league in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Press made the NIT one year and finished 4th with Pistol Pete on the team, which is better than McMahon did in the NIT.

Recently Fargas was worse.
Dinardo drove us off a cliff.
MM is headed there.

Dinardo brought the magic back, then went in a ditch. He actually pulled us back from the cliff that Curley had us on. He left a lot of talent for Saban to start with.

It does look grim, maybe not that grim but maybe so.

Smoke absolutely belongs in the conversation. He inherited a Ferrari from Skip and drove it straight into a wall. The program was in absolute shambles when Mainieri took over. Saying Smoke was a good coach is revisionist history that I never thought I’d see.

Curley hall an says hello

No McMahon inherited a team with virtually no players. He was behind the 8ball , hands tied behind his back , than tied in a sack and dropped in the lake. I never ever expected him to be successful here so I'm not doing the worst coach game. You have to have some horses or players who have been around each other for multiple seasons. IMO

Dude makes me miss Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones.

Brady, TJ, CJJ, CoachMc all had 2-14(16) seasons.
