Heard the Old Waverly membership/investment group bought the course and decided to do a renovation. Sounds like they'll be shut down for a while. Anyone have any details on what they're doing?

Doing some small needed things at mossy oak.

Like fixing the bunkers (they don’t drain well so they have to dig them up, fix drainage and replace sand), taking out the ditch on #8, adding a new entrance gate, fixing other minor things on a couple greens/tee boxes.

Waverly will get some work done as well over the next couple of years.

It has gone fully private so there is no longer the ability for non members to do the stay and play. Now, if you know a member they can get a tee time for you and you can play as a guest of theirs and if they are property owners you can stay at their condo/cottage etc.

There’s enough people around there to support two phenomenal golf courses?

Waverly has a lot of out of town members and a decent bit of corporate members. A lot of national members in Memphis/Jackson/bham area.

With Starkville being so close a lot of out of town state alumni are members/property owners and use it to stay when they come for games.

Mossy is one of my favorite tracks in the area. Very unique and hard to replicate around here. Glad I got to play it as many time as I have, Sucks that it is going private.

Wild Spring Dunes from Mike Keiser is coming to east Texas, wonder if that factored into their decision to go private. I know which direction I would drive for a golf trip.

I heard from a member the Stay and Play is likely to come back after the renovations are done, but the prices will be much higher. Think Cabot or Streamsong.
