Edit: its from Dianna Russini

This is Barstool NOLA taking a screenshot allegedly from The Athletic. I do not know what article they are referencing or how legit this is. Sorry. Just passing this along, but grain of salt.

If anyone finds an actual article and can post the actual content, post it

I think Moore is the best hire we could realistically have done this cycle.

However if he turns us down it may be a blessing in disguise.

it would be such another embarrassment that Gayle may be forced to act if next season is a disaster, again.

This is why I don't believe Mickey when he sort of said we could cut Carr if the coach we hire wants to. I'm guessing behind closed doors, Mickey is saying Carr is part of the deal. Because realistically, our path to cap compliance this year basically requires we restructure Carr. The only other path is to basically do EVERYONE ELSE except Carr, and that puts us just under the line.

We're stuck with Carr for 2-3 more years. I wonder how much of the other coaches backing out had to do with this.

May not want it... May have come around.

She can't be wrong

ETA... 50% chance of raining today. I'm one hell of a forecaster also.

Loomis made this bed. He had no business signing someone like Carr until he got the cap situation under control first.

Gayle shoulda fired him when he refused to fire Allen. He shouldn’t be allowed to clean up the mess he created. Team badly needs an outside perspective to get straight. Loomis lives for the minute. Zero long term strategy. Drafting and his cap management….

Reading Ross's tweet this cracked me up

So she gets to be negative about the Saints job like everyone else does but he may actually take it

Why would he do that?

Saints Talk tells me Carr is All Pro when his line blocks.

Clearly, those posters know more than this man.

These young guys are bitches if that's the reason. What do they want? A to take over a team with a franchise QB? That isn't what gets coaches fired.

Thank God Sean wasn't a bitch and took an opportunity to fix something that was majorly broken after Katrina.

If Moore is declining, we will have a HC in a few days. If we don't, it's Moore.

Yeah, Moore could decline the job today, I don't think he would string a team along for 2 weeks

If we still don't have a HC next week its safe to assume he is taking the job

Him stringing the Saints along and then during an interview on field after the SB declining it would be quite funny though

Going to be awkward to crawl back to Rizzi. Would be hilarious if he were to decline.

If Moore is out, then it'll likely be Kafka.

I bet he's putting pressure on Mickey to commit to trading Carr.

I would be shocked if KM turned down the Saints due to the current QB room. He would have input to change it

There's no universe where Rizzi turns this job down.

Even if he's just a patsy and one of the lowest paid HCs, its still a huge raise, with guaranteed money, lifechanging money potentially, and he can go back to be a ST Coordinator the second he's fired at half the teams in the league.

Yeah but Sean at least had the ability to push some change. Realistically what can really be changed on the roster right now in a major way?

We likely can’t even simply get rid of Carr if we wanted to due to the mess.

I don’t blame a guy for not wanting a job with no leeway for tearing it down initially.

His alternative is to go back and coach hurts/smith/brown/saquon/ and goedert for another year and wait until an equally unsuccessful but more flexible team opens up. He’d likely also earn a fat raise.
