Is that Planet Hollywood place or Fashion Cafe still open because those were some excellent family eateries that were completely in touch with the local palate.

Don't go to one of these crummy chains... Go to Mandinas....excellent food and atmosphere...make sure you bring cash, they don't accept CC.
For something a little more family style in the same neighborhood, try Venezia...excellent Italian food, and their House Special pizza is tremendous.
