Put this together after seeing Rizy up to 96 this weekend.

Let's hope they possess command, control, a strong secondary pitch, and stamina. Those speed numbers are an excellent start.

It’s amazing the velo you see across the sec these days
Throw in a soft tossing lefty and hitters will really struggle

I’m very much looking forward to watching 6’8 Shores and 6’9 Rizy throw gas. Going to be a spectacle with their size

It’s cool to throw hard buts it’s like real estate. Location location location..I’m ready to see both.

Almost every team in the SEC has that and more. It’s about being able to command it and stay at that velocity for 6-7 innings.

Just wait until the weather warms up

Plus you have a lot more pitchers matriculating through college since they shortened the draft back during Covid

No they don't. But ok.

Seemed like 10 years ago, you had 2-3 guys who could hit 95. Seemed like most college pitchers threw 87-93. Tons of pitchers hitting 95+ now, at least it seems. Has this been a growing trend of college pitchers being able to throw harder, than they were 10 years ago?

It's not "cool" to throw hard, its preeminent to a pitcher's success.

Shoot, Paul Mainieri's last year in 2021, his most used pitchers were:
Devin Fontenot
Garrett Edwards
Trent Vietmeier
Makil Hilliard
Ty Floyd
Jacob Hasty
Will Hellmers
Landon Marceaux
Maybe 2 of these guys at the time could even top 95. Fontenot on a good day, and Ty Floyd.

If Schmidt is actually touching above mid 90s he is untouchable at the college level
His curve ball spin rate is top MLB caliber already. College hitters will be completely lost

Great they throw hard. Can they throw strikes when needed?

Schmidt gonna have usual fr growing pains but by jr year he could be dominant

Ready for baseball season to start. Plenty of talent on this roster.

The whole freshmen class of pitchers are insane. Between Schmidt, Evans, Rizy, and Cooper Williams.

Is this the year that the mythical Noot is finally healthy enough to contribute??
